Introduction

If you are in the market for bold and memorable images that will stand out in a world where photography has become ubiquitous, then you have come to the right place. My portfolio, available below (more can be seen at OlkerPhoto.com and social @OlkerPhoto), is diverse, but my specialties lie in event and portrait photography. I enjoy finding the balance between photojournalism and fine art that exist in these spaces, blurring the line between documentation and art. I hope this is apparent in my work, through my use of both natural and off-camera, artificial light. If you like my style, the rest should fall into place. My reviews speak to the quality of my services and professional demeanor. Photography is my full-time passion and career, so every client is given my full attention and resources to provide an exceptional experience and product. Furthermore, I look to offer a great value in order to get referrals and build a strong client base here in Austin. If you serious about booking or have any questions, don't hesitate to message me (an actual message is highly appreciated :) If your inquiry gets declined, it is most likely because I am booked. As my availability might change, or my second shooter may be able to help, I encourage you to reach out via my website. Cheers! Steve

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
As of November 2019, my current minimum for any project is $200, though I have some flexibility depending on date, day of the week, my demand, and the final deliverables needed. Quotes on thumbtack are updated regularly, but it really depends on the details of the project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Again, this seems to vary a little, but in general the process is as follows: - Discuss project via email / text / phone. - Agree on date / time / price. - If the project is an event, I send a short survey to be completed. - I send a photo agreement via email which outlines the terms and payment schedule. In most cases, I take an initial payment to reserve the time, the balance and applicable tax is due the day of the shoot. - I create a calendar event with location and invite the customer via email. - Check in the week of appointment to confirm. - Customer can bring a shot list / examples of desired look to the shoot. - After the session, the images are delivered digitally via Dropbox, between 2 and 28 days depending on the type of project. -Prints are always custom and take about 3-4 weeks.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have my remote pilot certification for small unmanned aircraft systems (which is required by the FAA to operate drones for commercial purposes).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I love to see live music. A few years ago it occurred to me that I can get into concerts for free in exchange for a photo gallery. The rest is history.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with a variety of customers including individuals, couples, families, and corporations. I've been hired by venues, bands, and PR agencies on behalf of various brands.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently did my first to in studio boudoir shoots. They were so much fun. You can see examples in my profile pics. Would love to do more of these.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always look at someone's website / portfolio / etc. There are many important variables that create a good photographer interaction, but at the end of the day, does what they are creating sync with what you want to create?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Consider the quantity and quality of what you want at the end of the day. Do you want 1 epic shot? Or do you need 100 okay shots? How are you going to use the photos? Do you need to be able to print a 24x36 banner? Or do you only want photos to post on Instagram?
