Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Starting rates are listed on the website under the "Pricing" tab. Please check these pages out for a general idea and feel free to contact the studio no matter what type of project for a custom quote. Special group rates are offered for portrait and headshot requests. Commercial and corporate jobs and events are typically based on full and half day rates.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1- A consultation by phone or meeting is our starting point. To prepare your formal proposal, a few questions will be necessary but quick. 2- Upon your decision to place a reservation, we'll begin with the deposit and service agreement.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Before becoming a full-time photographer in 2004, Tracy apprenticed for several years at a portrait, event and wedding studio. Classes and training workshops have always remained a pertinent part of keeping up with business functionality on all ends.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent multi-city headshot project (three cities- four days) with an energy company was a very enjoyable experience for myself and the team. Although we mostly had more than one hundred staff members to photograph per day, the excellent team work and organization kept everything on track. Planning the logistics of flying with studio equipment and managing locations is key with a project like this. Images were delivered within two business days.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If quality is ranked over quantity, you should first determine what type of service you're looking for and try to find a good fit in terms of style and personality with the photographer. Clicking with someone you'll be working with is very important and will reflect in the final product. Experience is golden, especially when trusting someone that will be responsible for completing a job successfully. If you're looking for a wedding photographer, they'll need to know how to react and improvise when the plan changes. Photographing destination weddings requires much more experience than a local wedding for many reasons. If you're looking for a family photographer, they'll need to be patient with children and possibly pets. A band photographer needs to know how to work with available lighting in dark situations (and stage lighting) and the required current management guidelines. Corporate photographers must be organized and clear on the timeline. Having a second shooter for all special events over 100 people is my recommendation. Lastly, proper equipment and backups are a MUST.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Communication is always key- clarity on the package agreements and expectations is important and helpful for delivering the best product.
