When seeking a photographer or videographer, it actually is important to find out what type of equipment they use, how they use lighting, what equipment they use for lighting, and if they have backup equipment. Also, some may not think it is important but direction from the photographer is really essential, if a photographer doesn't give any direction, eg where to stand, where to look, how to stand, style of clothing, etc, they're not a good photographer.
