Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Creative Media Degree from Champlain College for Visual Arts

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I won 2nd place at the Champlain Valley State fair for photography and realized I was passionate. I then started with charging my fellow students for senior portraits and attended my first professional wedding at 18!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds! Everyone is welcome and no shoot is too small or too big!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was hired for three hours to travel to Upper NY and follow a couple around while looking at foliage and stopping a rest stops. We ended up driving up White Face Mt. and it was the most amazing view. The day was crystal clear and the foliage was peak (10/8/19) - I truly love being outdoors and hiking so this was the best of both worlds.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you know how many images you get, what their editing style is like, how they deliver the images to you. Each has their own way and maybe their was is easy for them, but not so much for the costumer. - Experience in this field matters. Do they do well with harsh light? Have they learned how to be subtle at a wedding but also provide a hand when needed?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
You should have an idea about your project. Where/When/How much is your budget? You should mention WHY you want the shoot, if you give us "Birthday shoot" it is hard to infer. Explaining that it's your mom's surprise 75th birthday at the Windjammer is much easier for us to get a sense if it's something we do.
