Introduction

Hello! My name is Emily Morrison. We are currently booking for Wedding Photography, Engagement Sessions including Surprise Engagements, Family Portrait Sessions, Maternity Photos, Graduation Photos, Baby/Children’s Photography, and Pet Photography for every month of 2024 and 2025! When you work with us, you will experience excellent customer service. This includes timely delivery of your pictures, all shots edited and enhanced by myself using Lightroom, respect for how you envision your special day, and a welcoming friendly professional. I specialize in weddings, engagements, flattering angles, expression, candid connection between people, artistic photography, classic photography, and nature inspired photography for the majority of all of my photo shoots. I started Morrison Photography in 2006 during the time when our beloved portrait studios in Washington began to close down one by one. I absolutely LOVE photography, people, animals, and nature. I I travel all over Washington State to meet my customers in their favorite locations to capture those priceless moments! I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV, and I do have multiple lenses, adding versatility to my photography. I welcome all special requests for your session! I look forward to working with you! I respond back quickly, as I value your time. Thank you for viewing Morrison Photography here on Thumbtack.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer professional photography, value pricing and excellent customer service. I do offer discounts.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I respond quickly to my customers. I then will ask if you would like to schedule a phone call with me personally, or message with me back and forth on Thumbtack. My customers and I talk about the details of their event, and their photography preferences. This typically includes photography preferences such as session location, time of event/session, preferred angles, lighting, preferred posing, or impromptu connection photos telling a story, and most important, the ideas or special requests my customers have for their photo sessions/event.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was trained by a top photographer for American Images LLC in 1998. She was talented, artistic and professional! I am thankful I had the opportunity to apprentice with her for four amazing years. I then went on to manage three locations for this company, including opening a brand new studio in 2002. In 2003, I was recognized as a top photographer for American Images LLC. In 2006, I started Morrison Photography during the time when portrait studios began to close down one by one. I continue to learn about photography. I have been a professional photographer since 1998, and it never gets old. It is truly my passion! I love to be up to date on the newest greatest shooting techniques!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I managed professional portrait studios from 1998 to 2012.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with many couples who are planning for their wedding photography. I look forward to capturing those connection moments between couples during their wedding! I have also been a hidden photographer multiple times for surprise engagement photos. I also work with families for portrait photography, and enjoy meeting them in their chosen location. This is always a very fun adventure! I simply love people and enjoy telling their stories through photography.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I photographed a New Year’s Day wedding at Brown’s Point in Tacoma. I was at this venue shooting for six hours. The sunset had hues of pink, blue, and purple. The geography of this location was phenomenal to use as a background for this wedding party! There are stairs leading to the beach which was very refreshing and rejuvenating for me, and the wedding party! The winter sunset light highlighted all of the decorations of this venue. It was absolutely stunning in every way!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would recommend looking for a photographer who is willing to work with your style. A professional photographer will always respect your likes and dislikes related to your photography preferences. Also, good customer service is key! This includes timely communication, value in pricing, and a respectful friendly demeanor.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Even if my customers do not know all of the details of their event/session, that is okay. I love to listen to the ideas my customers have for their special day. I will ask questions about my customers’ preferences related to their photography ideas. If customers do know their preferred date of event/session and preferred time, that is helpful.
