Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I customize each wedding package to each couple. The overall price is based on the location, the number of people attending an event, and how in demand my schedule is on your wedding date. All images are edited and delivered via an online gallery. These are high resolution with a print release. Wedding galleries are delivered in 4-8 weeks and engagement sessions 2-4 weeks. Engagement sessions, second photographers, prints, wall art and albums also available for purchase

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I communicate through a series of emails, meeting in person or having a video call or two, and text messages. I am friendly and try to provide my customers with the information needed to be their most successful and happy selves.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Sam Houston State University. During my time there I immersed myself in the darkroom, developing and printing 35 mm to medium and large format film and prints. One of my favorite classes was an alternative printing class where we were introduced to a variety of non-standard photographic processes. I was trained in studio lighting. I also was able to learn Adobe Photoshop from people who had used it since it had come out. Before moving to a 4 year university, I attended photography classes at Norwalk Community College in Connecticut. I spent a lot of time taking color printing classes. I also won my first photo contest here for a black and white print.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
For as long as I can remember, photographs have given me that child like excitement that you feel when you make a new friend or see a dragonfly for the first time. I followed that feeling all the way through college and got my degree in Photography in 2006. Since then I have been making photographs for people, businesses, and stock agencies. I do this because I am really passionate about photography and love that my job is fueled by relationships, creativity, people, and light.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My typical clients are people who work hard and enjoy life. They want to have their love captured authentically. They get to know me and let me in so that I can direct them in ways that will produce beautiful and timeless photographs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone who's work you love and personality you are comfortable with.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If I was going to hire someone to work on a project with me, I would start by looking at their work. Is it consistent? Have they been shooting for a while? Then I would want to know that we clicked and communicated well.
