What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is very competitive and never any late surprises. No matter how small or big a job is we will always provide you with an official quote so we are all on the same page. Of there is any additional work required we will discuss the scope and cost prior.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Expectations when contacting HICO is a no pressure conversation or messaging session. We are a family based business that take pride in offering solutions and quality work at a competitive rate. Our typical process for working with a new customer is first respect and appreciation for their time. We have been told on many occassions by customers they are impressed with the communication we provide. Our motto "We are always a text away to a concern and solution". To start would be initial contact inviting the customer to ask questions and offer a visit to discuss the project and provide a free quote. If we move on then we discuss the process of the project and provide time expectations of the duration start to finish. At the conclusion of the project we are involved just as much as during for any questions or concerns. If it is a project that requires servicing for an example a new irrigation system we will discuss that along with pricing for that service. We strive for a long term business relationship.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The majority of our training is in the field and annual semimar trainings held by our suppliers.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

HICO is a family based business established in 1970. We started at a young age there is nothing we haven't seen or worked on or are willing to learn about.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We are very happy to work with residential and commercial clientel. The lock side of our business our largest client is a National Bank based in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. We provide the lock security and service for their Massachusetts branches as well as installation as new branches open. On are irrigation side we are currently working along side a large civil engineering company installing a streetscape irrigation system in the City of Somerville, Ma. We service hundreds of residential irrigation clientel through out Massachusetts, RI and Southern NH

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A recent project we worked on was an irrigation and landscape lighting for a homeowner in Milton, Ma. It was a refreshing feeling to not only provide water to the landscape but to help provide lighting as well. This particular project took 5 days to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Advice I would give to a customer looking to hire a provider in my area is to take note of there experience and reviews play a big part for me. That is a big reason I like Thumbtack because it holds the pro accountable.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A few questions I reccomend a customer think about before is what exactly they are looking to do as far as scope of work. I believe on the customer end of Thumbtack there is a live chat or help center to help guide them through the process.
