*** $300 minimum for Santa Barbara area *** I work makeup and hair for small weddings as well as people going to weddings or events. Please see my wedding rate sheet attached below in photos section. Rates for event makeup similar. I have a $300 minimum for Santa Barbara area as I have to travel 2 hours to get there. Thank you for your consideration. I am a makeup artist and wardrobe stylist for red carpet, photography, weddings & special events currently located in Paso Robles, previously in Los Angeles & Santa Barbara. I love the creativity and I love seeing how happy people are with the results of my work whether it is through makeup application or helping someone go through their wardrobe. While I have experience with airbrush makeup, I prefer to use conventional makeup as I find I can get just as consistent of coverage. All of my makeup and brushes are sanitized between uses. I have an extensive portable kit including lights, chair and table. I can to smaller wedding parties and often do wedding guests, MOB, MOG etc. pricing for weddings is based on number of people and services required, so please inquire.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing varies depending on the services required. Tip is not expected but always appreciated. The rate can vary depending on the scope of assignment, location (due to travel time) and duration of the job. I am happy to quote any job. If you wish to come to me, the pricing drops significantly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For makeup, I like to see a few photos of what someone has in mind and we discuss their skin, their desired look, their style etc before proceeding. For styling, I begin with a two hour consult that includes image and lifestyle assessment and an evaluation of existing wardrobe and from there we decide together how to proceed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked as a model since childhood and have been in the film business in various capacities for over 30 years. I did makeup and wardrobe styling in the late 80s and early 90s and returned to styling around 2008 and returned to makeup in 2016.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was a model back in the days when models had to know about makeup and styling and that is what got me started in both fields. It’s a longer story and I’m happy to fill you in on it when we meet or you can go to my website and read more.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with actors, models, celebrities, brides and private individuals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently did a period shoot for an actress who collects vintage clothing. It wa so much fun - particularly doing 40s hairstyles — I love working on looks from different eras as it is creative and a great challenge

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure their portfolio has plenty of photos that are not overly retouched and make sure they can do makeup on someone other than themselves — the easiest face is the face you do every day! Also look for before/after photos. For styling, look for someone who has photos of clients with a variety of body types — that way you know Rey can style anyone, not just skinny models.

Decide on the look you want Make an inspiration board on Pinterest or a similar platform Do your homework. The better you can communicate your goal the more likely you are to achieve it.
