TRUSTWORTHY RELIABLE EXPERIENCED Hi, I'm Nicole. As a hair and makeup artist, I have enjoyed a variety of creative opportunities. Thirteen years ago, I got my start as an intern on a film project assisting hair, makeup, and special effects makeup. From there I would continue working on two additional films, learning the fast paced world of hair and makeup in the film industry. Being a hair and makeup artist continues to unfold new opportunities both artistically and as an independent business woman. Makeup is a medium that allows me to express myself and channel the creative vision of others. It is this personal expression and opportunity for  collaboration that makes me love what I do. Connecting with clients and fellow collaborators truly fuels my motivation and work. As I've grown, service takes on a new meaning in my life personally and professionally. It is my intention, to bring in my experience with clear communication and responsiveness to offer you an enjoyable and seamless experience. My experience includes runway, commercial, editorial, bridal, special occasion, professional headshots, film, and music video production. In addition to makeup artistry, I custom blend foundations, bronzers, and highlighters using Motives Cosmetics mineral and organic makeup. I offer blowouts and styling, makeup tutorials, and personal shopping and consulting. LGBTQIA Ally. I'm also a certified yoga and meditation instructor and bring the yogic teachings and philosophy with me everywhere I am. I offer a 45 minute yoga and meditation session for bridal parties preceding hair and makeup. What better way to start the day with the people who came to celebrate this very special moment in time with a sense of calm and togetherness!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Absolutely, I'm constantly watching and rewatching videos on application technique. I love participating in tutorials or weekend workshops hosted by cosmetic company's like MAC and Makeup Forever.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

So I use to be a bit of a tom boy and jock in high school. My makeup bag literally consisted of compact powder, black mascara, and black eyeliner. It wasn't until my mid to later twenties that I really got into makeup. I just started playing more and exploring different styles and products. One of my friends suggested that I think about becoming a makeup artist because I'm such a hard worker and I have a great attention to detail; she thought I would be really good at it. She planted the seed and I decided to go for it. The first job I got was an internship on a 5 week film project in Austin Texas. It was an awesome experience!

What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common job that I'm currently doing are special occasion makeovers. The quote includes time and travel along with the makeover. The application usually takes up to an hour after touch ups. The majority of the times I drive to my clients but if they prefer to come to me that is available as well. Women have hired me to do their make up for New Years Eve, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, photo shoots, portraits, prom, graduation, bridal, etc...

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

The past several weddings that I've done makeup for have really been meaningful. When the bride looks at me and smiles and says oh my gosh I love it and means it; I can tell she means it and its just a great moment!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask any and all questions you have because a great professional will have answers. More importantly, he/she will want to communicate with you.
