Introduction

I as a makeup artist stand out because I make it my priority to provide my clients with a makeup experience that's customized to exceed their expectations! I make it my goal to ensure that my clients are comfortable and really listen to their needs in order to bring their best face forward. I create versatility in my looks and specialize in everything from a subtle, natural every day look to a dark, smoky, sexy evening look and everything in between. You can know that when we work together you can expect an expert makeup experience with top-of-the-line luxury products and my appointments will always include false lashes as well! Each day is different and each client is different. My job is ever changing! I love having the opportunity to bring out my clients best features, leaving them feeling like a brand new person with a huge boost of confidence when they leave my chair. I always want the customer to feel like they have a new understanding of how to apply their own makeup and a new sense of confidence after a makeup application.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have a standard pricing system for all makeup services I provide. I charge solely for the makeup application and all of my appointments include complimentary false lashes. I do not charge additional costs for travel, late fees, etc. For parties of 2 or more people my prices per person do lower, and I always provide group discounts so the bigger your party, the lower cost per person. Please feel free to inquire about the discounts I offer!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Whenever working with a new customer, my typical process always starts with a consultation. By having this one-on-one question and answer with them, I can get to better know this customer. Hiring a makeup artist is an important decision and you need to feel comfortable, so I like to get to know my new customer by seeing why they're interested in hiring me in the first place? I ask about the event coming up; ask about their experience having their makeup done and always break down my pricing thoroughly. After our phone call, I always like to follow up with an email going over everything we've planned and discussed to ensure we have everything planned out and ready for our appointment. With any bridal or special event makeup application, I always insist on having a trial performed for the peace of mind of the client. If we create the perfect look for the day of, it takes a load of stress off the client knowing that the makeup is already decided for the day of. With my bridal trials I will always do a full evaluation of brides skin, and create a skincare routine and maintenance checklist for the months leading up to the wedding. We spend our time discussing the desired outcome and applying different makeup looks and lash styles until we've come up with the ideal makeup style for the day. Once we've decided on the perfect makeup I will create a face-chart of the look for myself to remember everything and for the bride to keep as well so we can ensure we have everything ready for the big day!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I worked as a pro artist with Mac cosmetics and went through each tier level of certifications and training with Mac. Furthermore, I am constantly working on sharpening my skills and partake in regular courses and mentorships to improve all aspects of my makeup artistry as well. I also like to stay up-to-date on the latest makeup trends and products in order to accommodate the wants and needs of anyone who sits in my chair.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My journey to where I am today is a weird one! I began my career as a fashion stylist and personal shopper, working with clients to dress for events and diversify their wardrobes. I loved every aspect of styling but I wanted to offer the complete package from head to toe which led me to begin my journey with makeup. Makeup drew my interest fully and I truly fell in love with the art of transformation and pursued it fully leading me to the career I am passionate for and grow to love more and more each day over the past 7 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Having been a working makeup artist and hair stylist in the industry for the past seven years, I've had the pleasure of working with clients of every age, skin type and ethnicity in all areas of makeup. I am especially strong in makeup specialized for photography, and have had my makeup photographed for weddings, beauty and fashion magazines. I regularly have my work photographed and am constantly testing new products and techniques.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have many favorite projects I've had the opportunity to work on. I've been blessed to work with many different magazines at this point in my career in beauty and fashion and those experiences allow me to express my creativity and really show my strong points. At the same time I always enjoy the excitement that comes with working with a wedding party. It's always so gratifying to see the transformation of the bride and excitement of the bridal party on such a big day in their lives!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I always advise my clients and potential customers to look for an artist who's work you appreciate and relate to. Every makeup artist has different specialties and talents, price points, and years of experience. Each artist carries different assortments of product, can cater to different skin tones, types and ethnicities, and have different business practices. You want to work with an artist who can provide you with the result you're expecting while maintaining professional and keeping the client happy.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Questions to ask yourself before booking a makeup artist are: - What type of look are you interested in? - Do you want to have the artist apply false lashes? - Would you prefer an airbrush makeup application or a standard one? - Do you have any specific product allergies or sensitivities to any products? If so, let your artist know. - What level of experience do you expect when choosing a makeup artist? - Do you want a makeup artist who styles hair as well, or would you prefer having two separate professionals?
