What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Whenever working with a new customer, my typical process always starts with a consultation. By having this one-on-one question and answer with them, I can get to better know this customer. Hiring a makeup artist is an important decision and you need to feel comfortable, so I like to get to know my new customer by seeing why they're interested in hiring me in the first place? I ask about the event coming Up. With any bridal or special event makeup application, I always insist on having a trial performed for the peace of mind of the client. If we create the perfect look for the day of, it takes a load of stress off the client knowing that the makeup is already decided for the day of.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

In 2009, I took a three-month individual training with a well-known make-up artist in Ukraine. After that, took a few more group courses about the wedding makeup. try to attend various courses and online lessons to improve my level and develop as a professional makeup artist.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I dreamed to be a professional makeup artist. After attending a lot of different courses I did a lot of practice. I was invited to professional photo shoots, fashion shows.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I did wedding makeup for beautiful bride Kayleigh. She wanted smoky eyes with false lashes and nude lips. It took 50 min. Also I did makeups for her 6 bridesmaids.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I advise the client to study the makeup artist's portfolio. Also pay attention to what cosmetics are used. Prepare a photo of what makeup you would like. A good makeup artist will always feel what exactly the client likes and what style suits this particular client.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Questions to ask yourself before booking a makeup artist are: -What type of look are you interested in? - Do you want to have the artist apply false lashes? - Do you have any specific product allergies or sensitivities to any products? If so, let your artist know. - What level of experience do you expect when choosing a makeup artist? - Do you want a makeup artist who styles hair as well, or would you prefer having two separate professionals?
