Introduction

Being a make up artist is a passion of mine. I like being able to go to work, and enjoy what I do. I am a people person, so meeting new people all the time and working in such a wide range of field is something I thoroughly enjoy. Being able to know that my children are able to be taken care of from the pursuit of my passion. Becoming a certified makeup artist is one step closer to where I would love to go. What I would love to accomplish is being fully accredited, and continually progress in my knowledge.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

If it is a wedding or a large party, I like to incorporate some kind of discount. I believe my prices are reasonable, but produce the best of my work every time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

With a new client, I want to get a feel for who they are and what they are looking for. I may ask a good amount of questions at first, but that is to just be able to get a complete picture and understanding.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I went through a certification class with GlamLab. Also, I have been apart of a production department for 16 years and throughout time have furthered my knowledge.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started off 16 years ago volunteering at the church I grew up in in our makeup department. I developed a love and passion for the field and then wanted to learn more, so I started from there.

What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common type of jobs I have done have been beauty/ fashion makeup. Of course, I do others like TV/ Film and Special FX, but a lot of beauty and fashion.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I was booked for a fundraiser supporting a local police officer who was battling breast cancer. The organization put on a fashion show, and all that were a part of this show were either some form of cancer survivor or ones that were still battling the disease. Just to see all the ones involved, kids and adults, it was such a humbling experience.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't be afraid to do your research. Sometimes the cheapest may not always be the best. Along with sometimes the first person may or may not be the best.
