Introduction

I have always had a passion for fashion and beauty, which led me to a career as a Professional Makeup Artist. I have been working in the industry for over 10 years, specializing in bridal, headshots, corporate videos and everything in between. I work with parties of all sizes, and often collaborate with other very talented hair and makeup artists to accommodate every need. I travel on-location throughout NJ and NY, am background checked through Thumbtack, and have been a Top Pro for 4 years. I look forward to working with you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My prices include either airbrushing or traditional foundation application, as well as false lash application (strips only). I bring with me a fully stocked kit of premium brands of makeup, plus a ring light for optimum lighting. Should there be any parking fees that incur at your venue, I ask to be reimbursed for parking.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I always ask for pictures from the client for any type of application for special events. If there are no pictures, then I ask the client who their style/makeup icon is so we can be on the same page. For brides, I recommend a trial when possible. It will allow the bride to get a feel for my style of application.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from University of Arizona where I studied painting/drawing and photography. I also attended NINA MUA makeup school in NYC where I received a certificate in Makeup Artistry for Beauty and Fashion and Hairstyling for Makeup Artists. Additionally, I received intense training during my time working for a top global makeup brand (over 10 years worth!)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After college, I got a job at a makeup counter and found my passion! I never looked back.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with Brides/Bridal Parties, Proms, Corporate clients for web/e-commerce sites, Headshots for actors and business sites, and Musicians for music videos. Additionally I have done makeup for live action events such as fashion shows. My clientele is diverse, representing all ages and skin tones.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked on a music video doing hair and makeup for a musical artist. The shoot was 8 hours with two looks as well as on-set touchups. It was an amazing experience to be a part of this creative process!!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice is to find a makeup artist whose work appeals to you and matches what your vision is for your event. When you do find the right person, give lots of details about the event so the artist understands your needs on your special day.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What type of makeup looks do I feel comfortable in? (Pinterest is a life-saver) How much time do I have for makeup before I go to my event? How much money do I feel comfortable spending? How many people would need makeup services the day of the event? Do I want airbrush or traditional foundation application and do I want false lashes?
