Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Prices may vary depending on location and the nature/purpose of the service. There are discounts for big groups and add ons for certain extra services.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Whenever im working with a new customer the first thing I do is introduce myself and provide them with my information so that they can contact me directly if they like. Ideally I like to schedule a phone call or video meeting so we can know each other and I can start working on a makeup design / doing research / gathering the right materials to meet their needs, normally in this step I also ask about any allergies or skin/hair conditions so that I can also keep that in mind when selecting the products i'll use. (when a makeup test is not required or possible) The next step would be confirming the date scheduled and clearing up any doubts or questions the customer might have, over the next days/weeks or months I will stay available for my client and check in with them periodically so I can be prepared there is any modifications to the initial agreement.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a certificate of higher education as a professional makeup artist and hairstylist and special effects makeup (2years) plus additional work experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I gained interest in makeup when I was a teenager and I started teaching myself trough videos and some online courses, I've always been interested in arts and manual activities, up to this day I still paint, draw and craft, makeup is just a variety of art mixed with cosmetology and that's why I find it fascinating.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
It very important to me that everyone feels welcome to reach out and confident I will provide the best service for them no matter age, race, gender or any other variant. All humans deserve to feel beautiful and experience the true transformation and power makeup and hair can have. I have worked with ALL types of clients and I try to be as accommodating an understanding as possible to make everyone feel comfortable.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
in my opinion is fundamental for any makeup artist and or hairstylist to be up to date when it comes to techniques trends and products, so that is something you should look for as well as a good skincare and hair texture knowledge since every type of skin and hair is different and having a wide knowledge about this will help deliver a better result.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about the result that you want and what type of makeup or hairstyle you have in mind thoroughly. When looking for references it’s very important to look for looks on models with similar features/ skin texture or hair texture to your own this will help you truly visualize how something can look on you. Try to identify what you like about the look individually, so for example for makeup, If what you like is the finish of the skin but not the eyes be specific and inform your artist of that, you might be looking at skin and they might be looking at eyes. If you don't know much about makeup or hair it’s always good to ask the professional and let them make suggestions.
