Hi, I’m Christine, the artist behind Face by Fern. I’m a professional makeup and hair stylist with over 7 years of experience, specializing in soft glam, bridal, and event beauty. Whether you’re going for a flawless full glam or a natural, radiant look, I customize each application to highlight your unique features and personal style. Originally based in New York and now working in both Florida and NYC, I’m currently booking summer clients in the New York area. While I do travel for select appointments, I’ll be based in Queens this summer and am also welcoming clients to my in-home studio for makeup and hair sessions. Let’s make magic together.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Travel fee is based off of distance. If you’re located in Orlando travel fee is $35. If you are half an hour away you will pay $25. If you are in the Clermont area travel fee is $15. 1 hour travel is $50. Wesley Chapel and surrounding vicinities is $60. If I am traveling to Tampa or Daytona it must be for more than one service…the travel fees are $80 as it will take me between 1.5 and 2 hours to drive there and back. I will not travel to Gainesville or St.Petersburg if it is not 3 or more people booking with me. Travel fees for those areas are $150

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I ask that you have a space dedicated to the makeup area. Please have outlets available in said space as I will be bringing Makeup Lights. I will need a large table to set up for makeup.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Self taught , worked at a salon, also took classes from leading celebrity makeup artist in the field Renny Vasquez. Well trained in different skin tones and textures.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started as a teenager who loved makeup. I always saw my mother looking so beautiful with all her makeup and the interest took off as both me and my sisters played dress up and gave each other makeovers growing up. My family would always ask me to do their makeup for special events and soon enough people started showing interest in my skills. I attended a makeup event in NYC one time and was told by Roque Cozzette (owner of Cozzette beauty and seasoned makeup artist professional) how great my makeup application was and he asked me if I was a makeup artist and I had said "No" and he then planted the seed in me that I should become one. And since then that seed grew I started signing up for classes by top beauty professionals in the field, Renny Vazquez & Tatiana Ward. Renny has worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Gabriel Union, & Serena Williams. Tatiana has worked with Nicki Minaj & Brandy. A few years later I was even offered the opportunity to model for Renny and another top beauty professional in the field Nicky Posley. I feel like that up close and personal experience allowed for me to learn a lot about what happens behind the scenes on set. I continued to push forward and gain experience in all skin types, tones, and textures.
