Introduction

Hello! I am a mobile beauty service that provides on site makeup and hair services for my clients at their homes, hotels, or other locations in the DFW area. My work stands out because my makeup application techniques lend to flawless application, as well as the aspect of creativity and ideas for looks that are unique to me, which I bring to the table. I love everything about hair and makeup and the beauty industry. What I love most about being a makeup artist is to see the joy a client has when they see their completed makeup look. The same goes for hairstyling. It is a great satisfaction to me to see someone's self-image boosted or to really feel pretty after they get their makeup and hair done! That part is priceless.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I received my certification as a master makeup artist from Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy in Atlanta, GA.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I am an artist (specializing in drawing/illlustration), which is what I actually went to school for. Makeup artistry allowed me to fuse my love for beauty/makeup with my artistic talent/ability for the perfect career choice.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I do alot of bridal work and photo shoots.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

One recent job I was particularly proud of was with well-known photographer, Derek Blanks, who shot a reality tv star for a magazine cover which was featuring a local Atlanta designer whose dress she was wearing. I loved the makeup and dress, and the whole photo shoot was an absolute success. The images were beautiful.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be mindful that you get what you pay for.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Makeup artistry, true makeup artistry, is something that true artists take very seriously. It is more than just putting on lipstick and some eyeshadow. There is thought, creativity, and time that goes into makeup application. It is also hard work! Standing on your feet working on faces, paying attention to every detail of a person's face, and making sure that everything is perfect when you are done are all aspects of what a makeup artist must do, as well as adhering to what the client's needs and desires may be. Being a makeup artist and succeeding in the business aspect of it also requires a commitment to grow your business over time. It does not happen over night.
