Introduction

Hello beautiful! I've done make-up for over 20 years and just got back into it while I'm in law school. In Austin, I've done make-up for film-festivals, fashion photo-shoots and runway shows. Make-up wise, my goal is to make you look like the best version of yourself, we can keep it simple or go full glam. For hair, my experience is limited to simple swept back bridal buns, updo's or curls. Since this is not my area of expertise, I do not charge for hair, it is complimentary and part of my service. For your special event, we can discuss your specific goals and develop a look that is truly you. On your day, it's about you and I will listen to what you want but also make suggestions.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
First person is $125 and $75 for each person after.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want to see pictures of you with and without make up prior to your session. I have found, especially with brides that they don't want to look so different from themselves on their wedding day. I won't experiment on loud colors or extreme looks but instead use make-up to enhance your own beauty.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been a freelance make-up artist for over 20 years. Living in Austin this was easy to do since there was such a demand for make-up in the up and coming fashion and movie scene there.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started doing make-up in 1999 but started doing it for work in 2007. I've taken breaks during my career and pursuing a law degree.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Models, actors, brides, prom, special events, headshots for work.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I made up a mother of the groom and this woman wanted a vintage style look. We did a cat eye and a red lip to match her emerald green dress and she felt and looked amazing.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You want your MUA to be flexible and not want to impose their own beauty standards on you. As a former model myself, I have worked with MUA's who refused to fix something I didn't like. It's so important to listen to your client and understand what they view as beautiful.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Personally, I have complicated skin texture and when I get an MUA I want to make sure they know what they are working with. If you have eczema or sensitive eyes, let your MUA know so they can use products that won't make you break out in hives on your special day. I make sure to thoroughly sanitize all my brushes and I use a lot of products that are disposable after one use.
