I consider it a great honor when a client entrusts me with their inner most thoughts and struggles. Throughout my life people have always felt comfortable confiding in me, sharing things that they’ve never shared with anyone else. They feel comfortable being vulnerable with me and I consider it a wonderful privilege to hold that space for them without any judgement nor expectations and in complete confidence. For this reason, I decided to become a confidant and guide professionally. I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding from personal experiences throughout my life, gaining much wisdom from trial and error (and more error). Not the most pleasant way to learn a life lesson, but definitely the most impactful. I have experience with everything from personal/professional development to parenthood to divorce to addiction to domestic violence (just to name a few). I’ve participated in my own therapy throughout my entire adult life and found that of all my therapists, the two that made the greatest impact in my life, and who gave me practical ways to apply their guidance, were life coaches with vast personal experience and not necessarily traditionally educated psychologists. I believe that I can be that person to my clients and I combine several approaches to meet client needs with self-reflection, suggestion and simple application. We can reflect on our life and experiences until we are blue in the face, but it is with practical application of appropriate mental health tools that we see the greatest change.
