District Relocators is a full service licensed moving and storage company that provides local/ long-distance and commercial moving. We have completed thousands of moves since 2009 including schools, police stations, fire departments, offices, apartment complexes as well as regular residential relocation. We have a full time staff that works with us all the time and we never hire movers off the street.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

At District Relocators we offer hourly and flat rate moves. Our residential apartment and single family home moves are usually hourly. We usually send 3 to 6 men and 1 to two trucks depending on the size of the job. Residential jobs usually have a material and fuel charge as well as the hourly rate. All residential jobs come with a 3 hour minimum along with the material and fuel charge. Anything over three hours is billed in 15 minute increments. We give flat rates for any long distance jobs over 90 miles. We can also provide flat rates for small furniture moves or deliveries. Ask the sales rep about any discounts.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

One of our sales associates will provide a quote and ask for your contact information. Once we receive your information we can fine tune your quote and adjust the price to fit your needs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

District Relocators does residential, commercial, government, local & long distance moving. We can also provide storage when requested. We contract directly with DC GOVERNMENT and have moves several schools, office buildings and local municipalities in the DC AREA. We also have completed several moves back and forth to New York.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently moved the entire Elliot Hine School on Capitol Hill in Washington DC as well as the Department of Public Works in DC. These were large scale moves including 25 plus movers taking several weeks to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be sure to do your research and call around to different moving companies so you can know how to select the best moving company for the job. Read reviews on each company to make sure they are reliable and honest.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Do you have a full time staff or are you hiring Day Laborers. Do you have a policy for handling claims. Are your licensed to do this work. How long have you been in business. Do you send more than two movers out for larger jobs. Do you have your own trucks or do you rent. Do you offer packing services. Can you provide references for long distance moving.
