Introduction

One thing that separates our service from our competitors is that we actually wrap all furniture inside your home. This not only protects your furniture, it protects your walls/floors, it keeps drawers shut and it keeps your furniture dry on rainy days. On top of wrapping the furniture in your home, we lay floor protection and pad necessary railings and doors. For long distance moves, we offer guaranteed pickup and delivery dates. We also offer dedicated moves, meaning only your belongings will be in the truck. Most van lines do not offer either of these. About us: Matthew's Nationwide Moving (MNM) is an Alexandria, Virginia based company formed in 2012 by the LLC’s President, Matthew Neyland. Matthew formed the company and has grown it from one starving college graduate with muscles, to 20 seasoned moving contractors and staff. While the company has grown, Matthew remains highly involved in the day to day operations and can often be seen driving down the highway or helping his guys with a moving job. The company has two types of trucks for local and long distance moves. The smaller truck is a standard 26 foot box truck with a lift gate, fully equipped for professional, full service moves. (see photo gallery). The larger truck is a 32 foot enclosed trailer towed by a Ford F450. (see photo gallery) This has 2200 cubic feet while the 26' truck has 1800 cubic feet. MNM has been to 48 states in the last year and a half and has successfully pleased over over 1500 local and long distance move customers. The company’s goal is to provide exceptional service at affordable prices. Matthew’s Nationwide Moving is committed to ensuring an extremely reasonable price for the quality of service provided. MNM believes that there is no other moving company that can compare at the end of the day. Other moving companies may seem to have a better deal for almost the same work, but they sometimes have hidden costs or they do not provide the same services such as wrapping, packing or assembly/disassembly of furniture. Our move may cost an extra $20/hour, but the customer’s peace of mind and worry free move is worth that extra little amount. Matthew’s does everything to ensure all moves go as smoothly as possible. Here are a few other reasons to choose MNM. All furniture is wrapped BEFORE it leaves your house. This not only protects your furniture, it protects your walls and floors, it keeps dresser drawers shut, and it also protects the furniture from rain. MNM offers guaranteed pickup and delivery dates for long distance moves. MNM offers dedicated moves, meaning only one customer’s belongings will be in the truck at a time. This is an option that some customers feel is important for peace of mind. MNM also offers flat rate, long distance moves. This means the price we quote is the price you pay. It will not change based on weight or any other circumstance unless the customer decides to add additional services. You have to love what you do. Moving has become more of a passion and a career for us. Not just a job. We take pride in our work. Keeping our customers happy is our number one priority.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
For local moves, we charge by the hour. The price depends on the time of year as the moving industry is highly seasonal.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
For long distance moves we typically give an in home estimate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have an associates degree in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College and a bachelors degree in Business Management from George Mason University.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started out doing junk removal and moving single items while in college. I eventually branched off into only moving.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have dealt with many types of customers. There are no difficult customers, just difficult situations. We have dealt with everything from the simplest move to the most complex move.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, we had a move from Alexandria, VA to Austin, TX. The move required packing of the entire house, wrapping of all the furniture, 4 days of storage, unloading/unwrapping/unpacking in Austin. Almost every item was an antique. The move went flawlessly, not one thing was damaged, customer was extremely happy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
STAY AWAY FROM VAN LINES!!!! Van lines differ from companies like us because they use tractor trailers and combine sometimes 10-15 moves in one truck. Your items are more likely to get lost, stolen or broken. They often hire unskilled labor. Sometimes it can take 2-3 months to get your stuff.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about getting 2 quotes for your move. One with packing and one without packing. A lot of times, the packing can cost more than the move itself.
