Whitehall Building Services has over 25 years of combined experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Many years ago, I got started with hands on experience where I learned from skilled craftsmen and professionals. As my experience grew, I started my own construction business in another state before relocating to Arizona over 15 years ago.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with a diverse range of customers, from homeowners, landlords, property managers, business owners, real estate agents and home sellers. Occasionally we receive emergency calls from distressed customers in urgent situations, we take care in helping provide prompt solutions.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Recently we took on installing an electric fireplace and building a custom surround with a TV mounted above the fireplace and shelves on both sides. You can see photos of this project in our profile. The customer had a general idea in mind and we were able to look at photos together and then finally, I sketched the end result. The customer agreed and the project got underway. Once the construction began, it took about 2 days to complete. We built the structure, installed the fireplace, wrapped the surround with shiplap, built the custom shelves on both sides and finally, trimmed the top with crown molding.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking to hire a new provider you may want to consider things like tools and equipment, experience and reviews, as well as problems solving abilities, and customer service skills. Communication is often the number one element of a successful project. Ask the potential provider how they handle unexpected changes or issues. You may also want to ask questions about availability to ensure it aligns with your project timeline.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

To ensure a successful and well planned endeavor, customers should think through several items. What is the project, the more clearly you can define what you are trying to do, the better. Set your priorities, if you have to make trade offs, know what is most important to you and your project. Establish a realistic budget. Think through your logistics, what is the approximate start and end dates, do you already have the materials, noise and dust levels that may interfere with your normal home routines.
