Introduction

My name is Taylor, and I'd love to be your muralist. I've been painting and drawing my entire life. I received a BFA in 2006, studied abroad in Italy while in school. I've been painting murals full time since 2016, and hold a CA C33 - Specialty Painter's Contractor's license. I specialize in painting people, figures, portraits, and especially anything celebrity or sports. I've had the pleasure of making murals for Sony Playstation, Anheuser Busch, Twitter (X), and most recently Toyota and the Colorado Rockies. I work closely with my clients, going back and forth on their concepts and imagery so that what’s created is a work of art that is absolutely loved. The process begins with an idea, is laid out on the wall, and then brought to life in color. I work efficiently, neatly, and professionally with quality and client satisfaction being my number one objective. Don’t hesitate to reach out to get your mural started. I look forward to working with you.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I would like my clients to know that my pricing is based on the level of quality, professionalism and beauty that they will be experiencing with the final product and the process of their custom mural. A mural is a permanent work of art on an interior or exterior wall and it has the potential to transform a space. When murals are done right, they can make a beautiful positive impact on people’s experiences of a location or room. The price that my clients pay is more than reflected in the lasting effect of their custom mural artwork.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My typical process goes as follows: 1. I receive general concept and general size 2. General quote is given 3. We brainstorm composition, details and specifics 4. I create any sketches needed 5. We finalize project details 6. We finalize price 7. Contract is signed 8. Invoice is sent 9. Down payment is processed 10. Work begins 11. Image is sketched on walls 12. Painting is created 13. Artwork is approved by client 14. Clean up 15. Final payment is processed

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a BFA in Painting, and I carry a C33 Contractor's License. I draw on a lifetime as an artist and years of experience painting. In 2006 I received a Bachelor of Fine Art with a double concentration in Painting and Drawing. With that formal arts training I have had countless hours dealing with design, proportion, scale, composition and detail. In terms of murals specifically I have over 10 years of experience and many completed projects. I use professional grade paints picked for longevity. I pride myself on my professionalism, and my client experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been painting and drawing my whole life. As a high school student I began creating custom artwork for friends and family. During my time as an art student in college I started getting paid to create custom paintings for people. I did my first mural right after college for a local restaurant and loved it. That restaurant had a handful of locations so they hired me to decorate all of their interiors. I had a great time and I’ve been hooked ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with many types of clients from top tier companies to professional sports teams, to business owners looking to beautify their restaurants, offices and exteriors of their buildings to families looking to make a beautiful environment for their kids to grow up in. Murals are a great way to create a powerful impact on people on conscious and subconscious levels, so they are perfect for clients looking to positively impact those around them.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
This spring I got to do a mural project with Toyota and The Colorado Rockies Baseball Organization in Denver, Colorado. It was for the VIP Clubhouse, which is the special section of the stadium reserved for the best 50 seats in the ballpark, behind home plate in between the dugouts. The clubhouse is reserved for the top tier clientele, and both the home and away team players and families. There were 6 individual murals and 14 paintings on canvas. The murals featured different elements of the club, with the main mural being a showcase of the highlights from the team's 30 years in existence. The paintings on canvas featured the Rockies standout players and Toyota's current lineup of vehicles. This project took me 3 months to execute.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would advise anyone looking for a mural to ask about an artist’s process, how they feel about critiques of their work, what kind of paint they use and definitely ask to see their past work. You just want to know that the artist can do the job and can carry it out well so that it lasts over time.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should ask themselves what the intention is with their mural. This intention affects everything from the imagery to the colors to the composition and finish. Who is it for, and what’s the reason for the artwork? These are main points that need to be made clear to the artist so that everyone can be on the same page. You always want to have your visions aligned when going into a large scale project like a mural.
