What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your needs and inspiration, view the space, and make a contract. Depending on the size of the space and state of the painting area, it typically takes 1-2 days to prepare for painting to begin. The initial outline drawings will go up and we will have a meeting for your final approval before the paint goes up. Painting duration is dependent on the size and style of the work. Following completion, we will have an additional meeting to make sure you are satisfied with the work and make any final adjustments if necessary.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Bachelors of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design AMS Montessori Teacher Certification from St. Mary’s College of California As an artist and educator, my interdisciplinary work uses diverse media, observation, and communication strategies to identify needs and create beautiful and thoughtful solutions for a wide spectrum of specialized art and design projects.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been painting murals and creating large scale 2D art since I was 13 years old. My professional mural painting began with faux-finishing of interiors in 2013 and then to interiors and exterior murals often targeted to children through a network of family, friends and teachers. My graphic design work began as an undergraduate Architecture and Design Student in school-related publications, then onto city-wide publications through my work as an intern at the Boston Center for the Arts. Since that time, I have completed a number of projects for digital and print use for public and private customers.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Business owners, architects, designers, homeowners, families with infants and small children, schools

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Working with a young family that rents their home, we created a "relocatable mural" that uses an oversized canvas and curtain fixture. This family was set on creating a special space for their child despite a potential move in the near future. The project took about 3 weeks to complete with 2-3 hr sessions 4-5 days a week.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It's good to have an idea and reference images to bring forward. Think of the process as a collaboration to create a space that you truly love. It is important to be open and honest with the artist about the experience.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What style of mural do I like? Are there any other murals or pieces of art I enjoy and would like to reference? How big of a mural would I like? Do I want to participate in the process? Does my budget realistically meet my desires? What kind of timeframe would I like to complete this project in?
