Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing typically starts at $35 per square foot for a traditional mural style piece of an average intricacy level. I supply the paint. Mandalas and custom pattern design (ie hand painted wall paper) are $50 per square foot or more. More simplified designs and some wall treatments can be negotiated for less, as can temporary art, small gigs, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I create my art from in depth conversations with the client about their vision for transforming their space. We chose colors together and I am receptive to the use of inspiration photos to understand styles the client is attracted to. I do not digitally design and prefer to not pre-design at all.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
BFA Fine Arts , many years experience

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have painted since I was a child and painted my first murals in my teens. My degree however focused on woodworking so I worked in that industry for several years, then found my way into winemaking for the better part of a decade, and traveled the world doing wine work. I returned to art during the pandemic and the demand for my work inspired me to launch a company.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Residential, Business, and NOVA Parks system

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
To date I am most fond of the experience I had donating a mural to a high school in Front Royal in honor of mental health awareness following some teen suicides. Painting with grieving students and parents was unbelievably rewarding. I partnered with another artist to complete the project in just 2 day with the help of our volunteer painters from the school.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for good reviews, and go with who you feel you have a good personal connection with, as commissioning art work is a very personal thing.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do you know what you want? Can you have a conversation about what you do and don’t like when it comes to art? How could we make this mural personally meaningful for you? Can you trust me to create for you without first seeing a finished design?
