Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Marblelife offers competitive pricing. In specific cases of substantial scope, a deposit may be required. We also offer 15% discounts on all natural stone and concrete restorations if a maintenance plan is put in place to keep your surfaces looking their best.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our process starts with a phone call or an email conversation. We will discuss the project details at which time a decision will be made as to whether or not a site visit is required. Some jobs are straight forward, and an estimate can be sent based on pictures and dimensions alone. In the end, it all comes down to the customers comfort level. We have zero issues in scheduling a free on-site estimate!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our technicians all receive a two-week training course in Sanford, Fl (Marblelife HQ). Upon return they are paired with a seasoned technician for up to six months before being help with the responsibility to come into your home or commercial place of business. Customer Service training is also a valued aspect of their overall growth evaluation.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As seasoned tile installers and Kitch/Bath remodelers, we recognized a glaring gap in natural stone and concrete restoration services. While these surfaces do require maintenance, they can easily be restored back to their natural beauty. We take pride in delivering "like new" results at a fraction of the cost of replacement. It is a niche market that drives value to our customers.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our business doesn't often say "no" to anyone. As long as the services needs of our customers line up with our core competencies, there is a very high chance we will work with you. We service a large residential and commercial market that spans from Northern VA to Baltimore. Our customer base directly reflects our service offerings. From high end homes with natural stone elements to middle tier markets with ceramic and grout solutions. We also continue to service big brand retail, hospitality and other commercial clients.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
The Marblelife Team recently completed a large terrazzo restoration at the National Archives. It's these types of jobs that generates a great deal of pride among our staff. We have also don work at the House of Delegates, Senate Building and the Library of Congress. Now that is just one side of our business. We find just as much satisfaction in working with homeowners. When we receive a call, it is because there is a problem. Being able to restore a surface without the stress and inconvenience of a replacement goes a long way. The best part is when our customers see the transformation. It always serves as a reminder as the day it was installed. It never gets old, and we will always take pride in our residential work!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Marblelife is a professional organization that is always staying ahead of stone care trends. A lot of our competitors are in the "recipe" business. Some even use You Tube as their training ground! Unfortunately, when things don't go in accordance with the "recipe" they lack the skills and scientific understanding in order to properly address the issue. My advice is to be careful who you hire. Always make certain they are bonded and insured. Be wary of estimates that are extremely low and most importantly, have confidence in who you hire. If it doesn't feel right, do not move forward!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
This is a great question. Because natural stone and concrete restorations are a niche market, it would be wise to garner as much information as possible. Some general google searches can easily prepare you to have a positive conversation regarding your project. Have pictures and, if possible, even simple dimensions on the ready. Just as the customer should be prepared, we like to be prepared as well. We can move very quickly through the process if we all have an understanding of the problem. The more information we have, the easier it is to build a technical plan. How old is the stone? When was the last time it was serviced? What kind of damage are you seeing? Do you have extra tiles? What is the space being used for? These are all samples of the questions you will hear from us.
