Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our overall pricing is more than fair. We aren't the cheapest, but we are far from the most expensive. We bring over 30+ years of experience to the table, which results in us doing what average companies cannot. Our crews are very well rounded in the trade allowing them to safely and neatly perform every aspect of the job. It's also worth noting that we use nothing but the highest quality materials available on the market, which helps us to achieve the highest satisfaction rating. We understand that your investment is important to you, we provide affordability along with quality craftsmanship, without breaking the bank! Here at Bluebird Painting customer satisfaction is our primary goal and what we strive for everyday!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When our customers first call/message us they begin by explaining the project they're looking to have done. We then introduce ourselves and explain who we are and how we can help. Then we'll set up a free consultation and meet with them and answer any questions they may have so they'll understand what we'll be doing on their project. Usually, the questions most customers ask us are about (color choices, material choices, neatness, cost and scheduling.) Finally, if everything is agreeable, we'll work out a schedule that works for both of us.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
1) I went into business in 2010 as Innovative Renovations Llc., which covers many aspects of construction. My (hands-on exp.) has been mainly drywall, mud & taping, prime & painting and int./ext. painting/staining and deck restorations. 2) In July of 2022 I began Bluebird Painting Co. of Missouri. Mainly because I wanted to isolate my painting trade and move away from the drywall end of things. Although I still own and operate Innovative Renovations, I never really considered it to be a painting company, but more of a general contracting business. Bluebird Painting Co. of Missouri is now the painting division for Innovative Renovations Llc. If you go to FB and search Innovative Renovations Llc., you'll see that we have a perfect 5 star review rating. 3) In 2001, I was in business as Patriot Painting Co. Inc. We did a lot of jobs over the years, from Pizza Huts, Wal-Greens, Bank buildings, to McDonalds and Hospitals, etc. We also did a lot of new end construction, mainly residential paint jobs. Regrettably, I sold that business for profit to another contractor. 4) I am a former employee of Bazan Painting. I was a foreman there and helped to run many large commercial jobs in the mid 90's. I was an employee there for nearly 5 years, I quit in the year 2000. 5) Before Bazan, I opened a small painting company in 1994 called ABC Painting and Wall Decorations. I did pretty good with that little business, mainly doing residential re-paints for current home owners. I let ABC go and started my apprenticeship and began my union career. (At this point, I have 30+ years experience working in the Painting trades!}

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
A friend of mine, Rick, called me one day in 1991. He asked me if I was looking for a job making extra money, he said he was falling behind on his painting jobs and could really use the help. I received a lot of painting skills/knowledge from Rick. We are still friends today.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Over the years I have worked with residential homeowners, commercial property owners, franchise owners, architects and general contractors and real estate agents.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We just finished a job for a repeat customer we have. She had a deck with rotten deck boards across the whole floor. We tore up all the deck flooring and replaced the old boards we brand new cedar. We are scheduled to return next May, 2024 to power wash and stain her deck.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
* Check out their history and reviews. * Make sure they're insured. * Make sure you hire a contractor who is not going to sub out your job to another contractor. * Always get a notarized mechanics lien waiver before submitting your final payment. This waiver IS to be supplied by the contractor, not you. (it's a pretty simple process, and yes, it needs to be notarized.)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
* Whether interior or exterior, ask them how they plan to prepare the wall surfaces before the priming/painting process begins. * Find out the quality of paint they're using. (Look at the buckets/cans and ask for copies of the materials receipts.) You and the contractor both have a right to these receipts. * Ask about their safety/neatness practices. * Make sure that they agree to do the job in a professional and timely manner.
