Introduction

Hello! My name is Caoin. I'm a painter and illustrator working in murals and public art, maybe you've seen some of my work around Boston? I'd love to collaborate on a project for your library, nursery, daycare, or other child-centric spaces. I also offer collaborative workshops if you want to get your kids/students involved in a hands-on way!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My standard rate is $40 per square foot with a $300 minimum, and I’m always happy to provide detailed estimates and collaborate on ideas!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Will meet to discuss ideas, goals, and expectations. Then I will create a timeline and budget. Upon approval, I will create a sketch - this is the best opportunity for revisions! Once the sketch is approved, I will color it in, then start working on site! Questions, comments, and ideas are always welcome, this is meant to be a collaborative process!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
BFA from MassArt and 5 years training as an illustrator and painter.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
A friend of mine kept asking me to paint a mural in her restaurant! I was hesitant at first, but as soon as I got on the wall I fell in love with the process. It's an amazing opportunity to create a landmark that can bring warmth and joy to a space.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Private businesses, individuals, municipalities, and 3rd party art consultants.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One notable project from the past year is my triptych. For Holliston, I created three murals that aimed to represent the past, present, and future of Holliston. This was a magical experience where, for the six weeks I was painting, I was warmly integrated into the local community and invited to several local events. The warmth and joy of this experience affirmed my excitement for public art.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It's a collaborative process! We want to bring your vision to life while assuring the best quality work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What's a realistic budget for you? Where and how large of a space are we covering? Are you interested in a workshop where your family/students/community can collaborate in the mural process?
