Introduction

I am a professional mural artist, illustrator, fine artist based in Greensboro, NC. I work in variety of styles including photo realism, illustrative and text styles. I have painted murals for City of Gastonia, Charlotte Hornets, City of Greensboro, many Guilford county schools, Town of Morrisville, Senior Services, Red Cinemas and many private individuals. I work on both interior and exterior murals of any size. Small murals of 7x7 feet can cost $1500 and larger murals can cost more than 5k to 10k or 20k depending on sq footage and theme. I also paint realistic portraits on canvas.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

In the initial discussion I like to know details about the project like the timeline, the size and style of artwork required. Once I get these details I provide a quote for the job in 24 hours. If the budget is ok with the client I sign the contract to deliver the job. A 50% deposit of the final amount is required to begin the project and the remaining 50% is payable after the completion of the project. In case of a mural I offer concept sketches for approval before starting the project. A token fee is charged to create the mockups which is later deducted from the total project fee if the client proceeds to hire me for the mural project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BFA and MA degrees in fine art. plus a diploma in animation.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After graduating from fine art college I started my career as a newspaper illustrator in year 2000. I later sarted my own business as a freelance illustrator, designer, mural artist and fine art painter in 2008

I have worked with clients across the globe from individuals to big brands. My clients include Charlotte Hornets, Artpop Street Gallery, ArtsGreensboro, City of Greensboro, Kotis Properties,YWCA Charlotte, Deloitte Pixel, the Carolina Public Press, Barringer Construction, Guilford County Schools, and many others across the globe.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I designed and painted a 50 ft long mural for the Montlieu Elementary school in High Point, NC. I really loved creating that mural in the school cafetaria as it involved representing diversity and painted a bunch of sweet children's portraits from different ethnicities. I also loved painting this mural as I combined realistic portraits with bright flat color background and icons and text. It took me a week to complete that mural.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are looking for quality work do not expect the lowest price.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What is the size of the artwork/mural they want. What is the style of artowork they want. What is the deadline they want their project completed. What is the budget they have in mind for the project.
