Introduction

Masonry Solutions, LLC provides professional design, installation, and maintenance of all phases of landscaping, irrigation, lighting, pavers and walls. Masonry Solutions, LLC is at the forefront of paving stone installation. We enjoy what we do, are constantly striving for excellence and warranty our work from the ground up. We believe that as people become aware of the superiority of a segmental pavement and that as we continue to require our customer's overwhelming approval of our installations, Masonry Solutions, LLC will continue to be a dynamic leader in an expanding industry. We would be glad to provide you with a list of projects that you could drive by to determine if a paving stone driveway, walkway or front porch gets you excited. Masonry Solutions, LLC is introducing a new division called Roofing Solutions of Connecticut, LLC! Headed by Brian Defreese, who has 30 years roofing experience. We do all types of roofs, shingle, metal, wood shake or whatever you need. We also do siding and window installation as well. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
When we propose a price for a job we explain in detail what steps we will be taking to complete the project, even down to what materials will be used and the brand names of the materials. This way, the customer knows exactly where our price is coming from and how we went about getting it.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
All of our customers are treated exactly the same, whether they are new or returning. We come out to the residence of the proposed job to look at what needs to be done. Sometimes we find there is more work that needs to be accomplished, however, we sometimes find we can tell the customer that there is actually more life left to the structure in question. Whenever we can save the customer money we do and we are always honest in what needs to be done. We never ever cut corners to save money and, therefore, sacrifice the quality and craftmanship. This is why we are confident in our work and we offer a warrantee. Even if you sell your home, the warrantee will be transferred to the new homeowner. Finally, once we look at the project and take any necessary measurements, then we get pricing for materials and write up a proposal so the customer knows exactly what we intend to do and the cost at hand.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Education and training are very important, but first, know that we are fully licensed and insured. This means if one of our guys gets hurt on the job you are not responsible. In addition, if there is an accident and something on your property becomes damaged we are fully insured and all repair/replacement costs are covered. Now, onto our training and certifications! We are one of the few certified Nicolock installers in the general area. We are also certified by the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute and the quality of our work reflects these accomplishments. The masonry craft has been in our family for generations. This means that we have techniques and methods used for decades to produce stunning, quality work. With that said, we also keep up with new industry standards to ensure that modern day science and technology mixed with technique will give you quality and beauty that has stood the test of time.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Everyone knows to look at reviews, that's the easy part! Some other questions you should be asking are: How long have they been established? I think this one is pretty self explanatory. Generally if a business has been around for a long time they know what they are doing. If not, it could go either way. Are they Licensed and Insured? A good construction company will have a contractor's license, liability insurance and workman's comp insurance. The primary reason you might want to get a contractor with a license is that there are a lot of jobs an unlicensed contractor can't legally take on without it. Contracting without a license for these kinds of jobs can get the contractor fined for thousands of dollars and may even mean they have to walk off your job without finishing it! Liability insurance insures that if there is an accident on your property and something is damaged the insurance provider will pay for it to be replaced or repaired. You don't have to worry about tracking down the contractor to pay for it or find out they don't have enough money to fix their mistake. Finally, Workman's Comp insures that if one of the construction workers is hurt or injured on the job all medical bills will be covered by the provider and they can not go after your homeowner's insurance. Do they have an office staff to answer your calls live? This is important so you don't feel like you are chasing a busy contractor down. We pride ourselves on good communication. If you have a question about your project, even while it's in progress, all you have to do is pick up the phone and you know your in good hands. Finally, when receiving multiple estimates for one project it is important to understand how and why you where given that quote. Different people like to use different materials. Some contractors will use the cheapest possible materials in order to give a low bid and get the job. Always be sure to understand the products your contractor is using are quality and will have a long life.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It's important to have an idea of what you want. For example, if you want to install a patio it's a good idea to take into account how many people you entertain on average. You don't want to end up with a patio that seats 4 when you usually entertain a group of 8-12. Think of the materials you like and do a little research on them. This way you will have a good idea of what your budget will need to be. This is important because when we ask what your budget is it is not so that we may squeeze every penny out of you! It is so we can help make suggestions on materials and design so that you will love the final product. Once you have met with a contractor, ask yourself a few questions. Where they on time? Did he/she "click" with me? Did it appear as though we had the same goal in mind? Did it seem like they care and are excited to work with you and your project? At Masonry Solutions we understand that we are helping you transform the most sacred place on earth, your home! We truly care about giving you the best product at the best price and provide you with expert craftmanship. Whether you decide to use us or not, make sure your contractor has the same goals at heart.
