What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My culinary expertise is built on both formal education and hands-on experience. I hold an Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts from Los Angeles Mission College, where I completed a rigorous two-year program that refined my skills in professional cooking, menu development, and food service operations. Additionally, I had the privilege of completing the Profiles in Good Taste course at the Culinary Institute of America in Saint Helena, CA, further deepening my understanding of flavor profiles, culinary craftsmanship, and industry best practices. Beyond formal training, I continuously expand my knowledge through collaboration, mentorship, and real-world experience. My work with industry professionals, including Chef Mitchell Frieder and Danny Harold from the Hospitality training Academy in Los Angeles , has strengthened my ability to craft innovative, health-conscious recipes that balance flavor, nutrition, and practicality. Whether designing a menu for a wellness-focused event or advising on food service efficiency, I bring a strategic and creative approach to every project."*

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My culinary journey began over 30 years ago at Uncle Joe’s restaurant in Inglewood, CA, where I started as a dishwasher. I quickly developed a deep respect for the craft and worked my way up to line cook, learning firsthand the discipline and teamwork required in a professional kitchen. From there, I had the opportunity to train under Chef Jean-Pierre at a French restaurant, where I worked as a dishwasher and pantry cook. This experience exposed me to classical techniques, refined flavors, and the precision of French cuisine. Over the years, I combined these foundational experiences with formal education, earning an Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts from Los Angeles Mission College and completing the Profiles in Good Taste course at the Culinary Institute of America in Saint Helena, CA. Today, I bring a blend of tradition, innovation, and health-conscious expertise to catering and culinary consulting, ensuring that every dish is crafted with care, balance, and creativity."*

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
*"One of my favorite recent projects was Diabetes Day at the Keck School of Medicine, where I designed an interactive salad bar that evolved into a nourishment bowl concept. The goal was to educate participants on how to build balanced, diabetes-friendly meals while making healthy eating engaging and accessible. The project took several weeks of planning, from ingredient selection to crafting takeaway recipe handouts that reinforced the event’s message. The nourishment bowl allowed guests to customize their meal, blending whole grains, lean proteins, vibrant vegetables, and flavorful dressings to create a dish that was both nourishing and satisfying. Seeing participants connect with the concept, ask thoughtful questions, and walk away with practical, actionable knowledge made this project incredibly rewarding. It reinforced my belief that food can be both a tool for education and a source of joy

Do you have a specific theme or atmosphere in mind? Menu Preferences – Are there any dietary restrictions or preferences to accommodate? Do you envision a plated meal, buffet, or family-style service? Would you like to incorporate specific cuisines or seasonal ingredients? Budget & Pricing – What is your budget range for catering? Are you looking for an all-inclusive package or à la carte options? Venue & Logistics – Where will the event take place? Does the venue have kitchen facilities, or will food need to be prepared off-site? Are there any restrictions on setup or service? Service Expectations – Do you need full-service catering, including staffing and setup, or just food delivery? Will there be additional elements like beverage service or interactive food stations? Timeline & Planning – What is the event date, and when do you need final menu decisions? Are there any key moments in the event that require special catering considerations? Customization & Special Requests – Do you have any unique ideas or personal touches you’d like incorporated into the menu or presentation?
