What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It depends on the type of case. We handle criminal cases on flat fees, and personal injury cases are handled on a contingency fee. A flat fee is a set rate, regardless of the amount of hours spent on the work. A contingency fee agreement is the standard "we don't get paid unless you get paid" type of contract. The average rate in the Denver area is around 33% percent, but we tend to charge less than that rate.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We always want to have an initial consultation we new clients. A consultation is typically in person, and it feels a lot like an interview. The purpose of the consultation is for Mr. Lawrence to obtain as much information from a potential client as possible and detail possible options for how to proceed. An initial consultation lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to a hour. All initial consultations are free.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Mr. Lawrence attended law school at the University of Arkansas, and he was licensed in Colorado in 2010. After obtain his license, he worked at few firms focusing on personal injury litigation and criminal defense. He has litigated several cases through jury trial.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Mr. Lawrence worked at several bigger firms prior to founding the Lawrence Law Firm in 2015. The primary motivation for focusing on criminal defense and personal injury matters was his desire to help real people with real problems.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We represent individuals from every walk of life. When taking a case, it is important to understand that everyone and every case is different. There is not a one size fits all approach.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Clients need an attorney that is honest and will provide competent legal advice. If you find someone who will provide an honest assessment of your case, you will also probably find someone who will not charge a ridiculous fee. The Lawrence Law Firm is here to help clients. We want to get paid, but we want to be paid a fair amount for the work we do.

Clients need to think about their case and set goals for what they would like to see happen with their case. This will help Mr. Lawrence understand their objectives and how best to guide them to achieve their goals.
