Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have three different types of pricing. I handle family law and business matters on a hourly rate. However, if the job specifics can be well established before the work begins I can work on a fixed rate basis. Additionally, I take personal injury matters on a contingent fee basis.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to set up a 45-60 minute meeting to review the details of your legal situation. After the initial meeting I will draft any required legal documents and set up an additional meeting by phone or in person to review any documents to make sure we are 100% on the same page before taking any legal action. My clients can reach me by phone email or text as needed throughout the representation.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Law Degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York, NY

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with both individuals and small businesses.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I represented a very nice lady that had been injured when she received a henna tattoo which resulted in burns on both of her hands. The physical pain did not last very long but she was emotionally distraught with the long term scarring on her hands. This was a very unusual case. While there are untold numbers of auto and truck accidents every day there are very few henna burn cases. I was able to research this very limited area of expertise and obtained a significant settlement for my client.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find out if the attorney you hire is the right fit. When hiring an attorney I think it is most important that you find someone you trust and has time for your case. Some people think they need a very aggressive attorney, others think they need a male or female lawyer for their family law case, still others may want an attorney they can speak to after hours when they get off work. I have seen many people hire an extremely busy attorney only to regret it later when they are difficult to reach and the client winds up dealing almost exclusively with an assistant.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I think it is important to consider how long you want your legal matter to last. While you do not have complete control over the duration of your case it is important to always ask yourself which you value more, time or money.
