In Injury cases, we don't get paid unless you get paid.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We like to have a consultation with our clients in which we review case details and come to a mutual agreement to work together. Once a retainer is signed, we begin the process of requesting medical records for injury cases. We want our injured clients to see doctors in order to gain their "Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)," which means the point where a person's injured body is unlikely to improve further with additional medical treatment, signifying the limit of their recovery from the injury, even if they may still experience some pain or limitations; it's a key factor in determining the total compensation for a personal injury claim. In SC we have 3 years to file suit on an injury cases.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

In 1981, Tom W. Dunaway, III, opened his solo practice in the heart of Anderson, South Carolina. After multiple years working as an Assistant Solicitor for the 10th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina, Thomas W. “Field” Dunaway, IV, joined the practice in 2016. Field and Tom worked together extending their no nonsense approach to an even larger client base. Today, the Dunaway name has been hanging outside of the historic Wilhite Geisberg Marianos building located at the corner of S. McDuffie Street and E. River Street for over 40 years. Excellent legal assistance continues to be offered to all those who step foot inside its doors. Attorney Field Dunaway and his staff bring many years of combined legal experience into each and every case.
