Introduction

Mr. Boasberg was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and moved to the Lone Star State to attend The University of Texas in Austin, TX. After receiving undergraduate degrees in Government and Business from the University of Texas; Mr. Boasberg attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, TX. While attending South Texas College of Law in Houston, Shane worked as a law clerk for the prestigious law firm of Gallagher, Lewis, Downey, and Kim. During this time, he gained experience in legal and appellate research and writing and trial preparation working one of the largest settlements recorded in United States jurisprudence history. Shane graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2002 and began his legal career at Heard, Robins, Cloud, Lubel, and Greenwood LLP in Houston. In 2004, Shane moved back to Austin, TX to serve as General Counsel to the Honorable Senator Mario Gallegos in the Texas Senate. Following his time with Senator Gallegos, Shane worked for Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott where he worked on a wide variety of legal and political issues related to transportation and eminent domain While working for the OAG-Texas, Mr. Boasberg also served as the Legislative Liaison between the Texas Attorney General-Transportation Division and the Texas Legislature. Following his tenure with the legislature and the OAG-Texas, Mr. Boasberg reentered private-practice in 2010 and opened his law firm in Austin, TX with a satellite office in Houston, TX. He has handled almost every type of civil case at some point during his career. Mr. Boasberg is actively engaged with the community is a member of Texas State Bar, Austin Bar Association, and the Capitol Area Trial Lawyers Association. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Personal Injury claims/cases aces are usually hired on a contingency basis - meaning that our clients don't get paid unless The Law Offices of Shane M. Boasberg is successful in representing. It also means clients do not owe anything to the firm to the unless we are successfully represent you. I usually charge between a 30-35% fee but often have to reduce my fee in order to get the claim/case closed.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually have them bring (or send via fax or email) an information sheet before I sit down or talk to the new client. If it looks like I'g going to be hired, I then the new send over a contract. I always like to meet with the new clients before I meet as it's important to have face to face time to figure the issues in the case and to figure out if we're a good fit.
