Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
You'll have your choice of a variety of options that will work with your budget, goals and schedule. Prices are dependent on how often we see each other and how long the sessions are. My goal is to help people change their lives for the better, and cost shouldn't be something that holds you back.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
For each new potential trainee, I offer a 100% free, no-obligation training session and consultation so you can get a feel for me, my training style and my private facility. Before, during and after the session, we'll get to know each other more thoroughly, I'll learn your nutrition habits and you'll be able to see all of the options available to you to make an informed decision.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I graduated from Cal State University - Monterrey Bay with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology (the study of human movement). I am certified with The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Growing up I always dreamed of becoming a runway model. After being told I was too short and not "thin" enough (was weighing in at 98 lbs at 5'2"). I developed a severe eating disorder. I became obsessed with achieving that look. I stopped eating, If I did eat I threw it up when no one was watching. I ended up in the hospital with an IV in me as the doctors did test after test to try to find what I already knew. Watching my mom cry by my side knowing she couldn't help me was the moment I knew this had to end. I began working out regularly, eating several meals throughout the day,and stopped hating food. I was reteaching my mind what beauty was and I loved my new strong body. I then decided I wanted to major in Kinesiology (exercise science) at CSU Monterey Bay. Since then, I have been helping my clients achieve their own personal and fitness goals, and I couldn't be happier seeing them succeed.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My clientele list includes people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds, including those with little to no training experience. I have helped men and women lose weight, gain muscle, get toned and perform better. Further, and more importantly, I have helped many people feel more confident in their bodies and helped them form healthier habits.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Every client should make sure the trainer is educated (in addition to their certification) on the human body. This ensures your safety along with the efficiency of results. There are many fly-by-night trainers out there that look good, but providing you effective results requires significant education. Further, your trainer should have a personality that works well with you because the trainer-trainee relationship is built on trust, accountability and patience. Having a good connection with your trainer is just as important as their education.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Seeking the help of a personal trainer is a very good first step in changing your body and mind. You should understand that, with any qualified trainer, your relationship with them will go beyond just the number of sessions per week. It's a relationship built on trust, patience and accountability. If they are truly committed to making positive changes in their lives. Each client should be prepared to trust their trainer, so long as they are educated with a good personality. Further, there will inevitably be ups and downs throughout their fitness journey, and the relationship you have with your trainer will be very important.
