Introduction

One of the reasons customers should hire me is the fact that I am never content, extremely meticulous & always trying to better myself through education. Not only that but my ability to work with all different walks of life including seniors, people with neurological conditions, professional athletes, youth populations & everything in between helps me stand out in an oversaturated field of mediocre trainers. My coaching style fuses education & learning while at the same time keeping things light, fun & personable. Witnessing results yielded from a program we’ve employed together lead to a better quality of living, smashing new personal records, removing doubt, transcending barriers & supercharging a more productive, mindful life is by far what I love most about what I do ❤️

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
1 on 1 training Sessions are $50 *included Red light therapy Manual muscle manipulation NormaTec air compression therapy Passive stretching CRAC stretching

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First we go through a screening process by which I am able to get a better understanding of you & your goals. It is also a way to help me identify any issues that may affect a health-related intervention. For example, barriers such as scheduling, lack of motivation & lack of social support can all be problematic when trying to adhere to an exercise program. There is also an assessment process where I gather adequate data to formulate a diagnosis. We would fill out a sheet detailing medical history, past injuries, surgeries & discuss them all. There is also an assessment portion which consists of gathering objective information such as blood pressure, scale weight, body fat percentage, BMI, circumference measurements (for some, not all), & movement assessments assessing malalignments & compensatory movement patterns. Once all necessary information has been gathered, the prescription can be put together.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer (NASM-CPT), a corrective exercise specialist (NASM-CES), a women's fitness specialist (NASM-WFS), a performance enhancement specialist (NASM-PES), a fitness nutrition specialist (NASM-FNS), a behavior change specialist (NASM-BCS), a weight loss specialist (NASM-WLS),a youth exercise specialist (NASM-YES) and a senior fitness specialist (NASM-SFS) . NASM requires their students to maintain a certain number of continuing education units in order to keep their credentials. On the NASM website there is also a certification verification tool to see whether or not the person you're dealing with is currently up to date with their certifications. My full name is Mikael Rivera. Just google NASM credential validation.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Weight loss clients, seniors, youth athletes, adult athletes, pain management clients with lower back, knee, shoulder, foot, & neck pain. People with special considerations like cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes (type 1 & type 2), hypertension, pregnant women, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cardiovascular disease (CVD) & depression.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I helped a woman who had been bedridden for 4 months after shattering her patella relearn how to walk in two and a half months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Test their knowledge of the field by asking questions. Do research on them & make sure their certifications are current & from reputable, nationality accredited institutions.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
One thing I wish clients were more aware of is the fact that when it comes to this profession there are numerous people, plans, plots, schemes, & enterprises that are willing to exploit the average, unsuspecting person looking to get in shape. In other words, most of the time people or big corporations are just looking to make money off of you & don't really have the client's best interest in mind.
