(That is subject to change when travel time, one session a week training or demands required for type of training are factored in) *There is a $75 consultation fee. An investment of 4 weeks is required to ensure a dedicated time on my calendar.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I became a trainer while doing volunteer work through a local hospital which was being held at the YMCA. The program was for individuals needing to move past rehabilitative therapy, post neuro-related events, cardiac rehab and those needing to continue with exercise as medicine. There was an immediate need for the participants to exercise safely, effectively and progressively. I wanted to help them get stronger, become more self reliant, help reinvent their relationship with food as it pertained to recovery and transform their bodies and minds. And thus, I did!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have trained clients as young as 18 years old training to make the Lacrosse team to a 92 year old suffering from dementia and in need of balance training. I have worked with all age groups, male and female, all with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of fitness and underlying medical conditions and physical limitations.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
~ I have a client, 65 yoa, who owns her own company (extreme stress!) and has dangerously high blood pressure. After a year working together, not only has her stamina increased and her resting heart rate decreased, her doctor has okayed her to go on the lowest dose possible with her bp medication. ~ I’m currently working with a client, 78 yoa, who has been a diabetic from the age of 12 and is looking to manage her blood sugar levels with an exercise program. We have successfully reduced the number of insulin shots she used to require after about three months into her strength training program.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Experience and knowledge are extremely important, so too is developing a relationship with your fitness professional. Look for a connection with the person you are going to work with.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How may I help you? What are you hoping to gain from working with me? Why are those things important to you in order for us to succeed together?
