Introduction

I love my customers and take pride my work! I receive lots of repeat business and I very honored to work with great families over and over again. I frequently hear that I am the most entertaining dancer they have ever seen and "worth every penny." I have reputation to be very fun, energetic, engaging with the crowd, over-the-top, life of the party, very musical and I have been told I stand out from other dancers because I'm a dedicated dancer and have high ethics as an artist. I am especially great with family parties because I don't take money tips in my costume so there is a different level of respect and class. (Although money showers are fine and definitely appreciated!) I love the variety of different cultures I perform for! I also really enjoy creating the perfect international music & dance mix unique for every event.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I work on my art daily by taking group classes, private master classes, workshops, reading about the cultural context of dance, language studies of Arabic/Farsi/Hindi/Spanish/Portuguese. I also make it a point to travel to the areas I research on for "source" research, I believe witnessing 1st hand the cultural context of the dance is the best thing for a performing artist.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
It chose me! A vocational calling to bring joy and culture awareness through music and dance! It's my sadhana.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Artistic/ cultural- folkloric/cabaret shows, audience participation, mini lessons, photo shoots w guest of honor and party attendees, modeling for large fashion shows, meet and greet for themed events, personal training, choreographed dance items for guest of honor, the wedding family, wedding couples dances, coaching the bride-to-be, etc the list goes on!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Please understand the Dancer is not only an Artist but a Business woman as well, meaning her policies and booking procedures are ran like any other establishment. If you want her do a fantastic job pay her what the job requires, treat her with courtesy and respect from beginning to end. Please don't be afraid to express your gratitude by leavening a tip or emailing her a rave review, those are much appreciated!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
OK, this is an important concept. Customers often dont grasp the "true cost" of a dance artist performance. What is included in the price the hours and hours of rehearsals, special costumes, music, song translations, transportation, gas, hair/make-up/jewels/ballroom shoes, private lessons, dance props, etc etc. By the time I divide the hours by how much I made sometimes its less than 5 $/hour! People have no idea how hard it is to do artistic job well and make a modest living. Our work is grossly under priced. Not to mention all the family events I have missed out on due to entertaining at other peoples' holiday parties, weekend gatherings and night time when i could be with my own family and friends. I love this art with all my heart but it is far from an "easy" business.
