Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
At SYNRG Fitness Studio, for both personal training and Pilates sessions, I charge $80 per hour and $40 for thirty minute sessions. I also offer packages of 5 or 10 sessions, at a discount of 10% off each session. I can also train duets at $120 to be split between clients, with the same 10% discount for packages!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically, I begin by meeting at SYNRG with a potential client to fill out paperwork, complete a health screening, and to see if our personalities are a good fit. The next step is to go through a basic workout. After that, based on the number of sessions per week, the client's goals, and their strengths, I design an exercise program that we will be following during the subsequent sessions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Growing up, I was never athletic and had always struggled with a slower metabolism. I tried dieting and exercise programs on my own, but was never able to lose the extra pounds. It wasn't until my mid-twenties that I took a running course at a local community college with an experienced professor and began taking Pilates classes that I discovered that I had been looking at exercise and fitness the wrong way. Fitness is freedom. It's the freedom of movement, the freedom of personalizing your fitness program into something that works for you and for your life. It's the freedom from the negative thoughts that we all struggle with because through fitness, we can prove to ourselves that we are stronger than our self-doubt. After finally reaching a place after so many years in which I was comfortable with my body and myself, I decided to turn my passion into a career, and have been blessed to pass along this gift to others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All-clients new to fitness and wanting to reach their weight-loss goals, rehabilitating clients overcoming an injury, senior clients maintaining freedom of movement. I love the challenge of not knowing what kind of client I'm going to work with next.
