Introduction

With 17 years experience I build a fitness program around your life, not the other way around. The focus is to build a great foundation and then make you stronger and/or leaner. Time to view “fitness” in a different light.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing reflects experience and cost that I have put, and continue to put, into my continuing education and business. I understand that it will not fit every person and their budget. If you have any unique circumstances surrounding your situation please don't hesitate to send me the specifics of what you are looking for!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I am happy to meet with any new or prospective client to answer questions they may have. There is no charge for this conversation If we decide it's a good fit our first session will be comprised of testing and assessments (movement/posture screening, measurements, paperwork, etc...). This is imperative for me to understand how your body moves and how to program your workout regimen for the coming weeks/months.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have worked as a fitness coach/trainer for 13 years. I have worked with every level of fitness and age. I am open to coaching a variety of circumstances however I am truly passionate about making people move/feel better. Whether it be an irritated low back or a contra-lateral hip/knee replacement, I thrive in the challenge to make that individual do things they never thought they would again. - Equinox Fitness (Personal Trainer - CA) - Lifetime Fitness (Manager in CA/UT and Trainer in - CA, UT, CO) - Strength and Conditioning Coach

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Fitness has been part of my life since high school but I really took to it in college while trying to figure out the "rest of my life" sophomore year! I got my start at personal training in college at the fitness center. I eventually met my mentor, who was a guest speaker, and ended up interning with him in California as the last part of my college curriculum. This would forever change the trajectory of my career!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with almost any type of person and/or personality you can imagine. I help people move better/feel better. That may take several weeks or several months depending on the person, their commitment to the selected goal, and a willingness to understand that nothing happens overnight. I respect body builders/fitness competitors, however I have no passion for the sport and do not coach anyone to do them. I would rather you know that now so you can find a trainer who does :) I work with the people who don't have the time, travel too much, have aches and pains and just want to work out safely and get stronger. The time will never be right and your schedule will never calm down. Do yourself a favor and find a coach who will help you do it more efficiently because in the end you will save time and money!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Do you research. Don't hire a fitness professional based solely on pricing. If you have injuries or health issues experience is crucial. It is worth paying more for the professional with credentials, certifications, and past success stories because it will be cheaper and less painful in the end! I've had multiple clients who went for a cheaper competitor the first time around and got exactly what they paid for. Find someone who knows what they are talking about and pay them!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Are you really ready to do this? You don't need to be 100% but you can't be 50/50. "BURN THE BOATS" and make a change if you know it's time to make a change! Find someone with a personality that you could see yourself working with. A bootcamp instructor might appear to be a good idea but do you want someone who is an asshole or someone who has a good personality but still drives you to work hard. Only you can make that decision!
