Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The first session is longer and includes more behind the scenes work so it does cost a bit more. You can purchase one off sessions or packages. I do four week packages at a discount because how we get the real work done!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our first session is a learning experience. It tends to take a bit longer as we both start to learn about the other. I start on the goal setting process the very first day while I get your health history and as much of your story as you are comfortable sharing with me. From there I like to do a mini workout. When possible I like to keep each part to 30-45 minutes each so we get some good, informative conversation going as a base for our relationship and a good workout in. The workout serves to give me an even deeper insight into the work we will be doing in the days and months to come. It also gets to be a great launch point for your fitness routine!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Yes, I am constantly seeking new information to keep up to date in my training practices and so I may answer my clients questions more thoroughly or direct them to the correct resources.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I worked for a few years in the healthcare field and felt that I wasn't able to truly help people achieve their health and wellness goals. Heck, I couldn't do much of anything other than test them and send them on their way in a haze of confusion so I left. I started Hudson Valley Peak Performance and I haven't looked back since. I can finally help people the way they need to be supported, not how I'm being told to work with them. That makes all the difference to me and to the clients I work with.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I most commonly work on strengthening and toning the whole body with my clients. Some need more focus in certain areas than others. I also work closely with my clients to lose any excess weight so that their bodies are less stressed and their need to be on pharmacological medications is mitigated.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I had a client recently who came to me in fear of needing a total knee replacement. After a few months of targeted training and strengthening he orthopedic doctor told her that she no longer needed an immediate knee replacement and if she kept it up she may not need one at all!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Go in with a plan or desire to get on track. Getting healthy is a lifelong process and if you think you can just skate in and out of sessions without effort you are never going to achieve your goals. You have to be committed, mentally, financially and time-wise to achieve your goals. It's your health and you are worth the commitment.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
There are a million different ways to train! You just need to find the type of training/trainer that works for you and your body. One style is not necessarily better than another, they may just be different! But do be aware that some exercises and exercise styles are more dangerous than others and you have to be very aware of your body if you choose to partake in those types of training activities.
