For the past 25 years, Destination Fitness has inspired our customers to help them reach their goals in the comfort of their home, whether in person or virtually. Our mission is to provide the highest quality personal training service from the highest qualified trainers in the suburbs of Chicago and Milwaukee. Our services both motivates and positively impacts the overall health of our clients in an in home environment that promotes trust, well-being and safety. Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton refers their patients to us for continued at home Exercise Therapy. As does Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, Northbrook and Arlington Heights and many other Physical Therapy institutes. Our caring attitudes shines through as we treat every customer with superior attention, integrity and respect. Destination Fitness is owned and operated by Jill Lindberg, Retired Nurse and Medical Health Care Professional. While working in the healthcare industry and raising a family, Jill saw the need for Seniors, Adults and Children who wanted to become fit and healthy in the comfort of their own home without having to waste precious time running back and forth to the health club. She also saw a need for people who wanted quality Certified Trainers and Exercise Physiologists who would give them their undivided attention without having to compete for fitness equipment, parking spaces or a free shower stall. Jill Lindberg, along with her team of Certified Personal Trainers and Wellness Support Staff, truly enjoys helping each client reach their fitness and wellness goals, no matter how large or how small. We service towns that lie within the counties of Cook, McHenry, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will. At this time, we are not accepting new clients in Downtown Chicago or Evanston. We are currently booked for those areas. In Wisconsin, we service towns in the counties of Milwaukee, Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Waukesha, Washington, and Ozaukee. We also service Northern Indiana at the border of Illinois. Our fees range from $100.00 to $135.00, depending on your location, the time of day you train, if we need to pay for parking on your street, or if you train either singly or with another partner. We have helped so many in the past 24 years and would love to help you too! The best part of my our day is helping a client in need. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing a client thank us for helping them reach their goals. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our prices range from $100.00 to $135.00 per hour depending on the clients location for Personal Training in home, if our trainers need to pay for parking and if you are training by yourself or as a couple. For our Nutritional Services with our Registered Dietitian, our fees range from $50.00 to $125.00 for a week/month's worth of services for meal planning and weight loss or for a healthy lifestyle,

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step is a health and wellness consult done over the phone with the owner Jill Lindberg. During the consult, Jill will determine the exact needs and goals the client is looking to achieve. Jill will discuss previous and current health issues and injuries and create a comprehensive plan that will be shared with the appropriate team members that will care for the client. Jill will then assign the perfect trainer to fit the clients needs. The trainer or wellness staff member will then visit the client for their first session. The first session is part testing, part training so the trainer can determine the clients strengths and weaknesses. Each session is custom created to fit the clients needs. All equipment is brought to you or we can incorporate your own equipment into your custom created program. Each workout is specifically designed to help you reach your goals. Whether it be strength training and toning, pre or post rehab, exercise therapy, senior exercise or getting fit for your specific sports goal, Destination Fitness will help you reach your goals! Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and available hours on Saturdays and Sundays too! We have the ability to take you there!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Each of our trainers hold various degrees in Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology from accredited colleges. They also all hold Certified Personal Training degrees, First Aid and CPR Certifications. Each trainer carries liability insurance as well. Each trainer is constantly learning new techniques during their continued education each year to keep their certification up to date.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I worked in the medical field as a nurse from 1980 to 1988. After the birth of my son, I then worked in the education field with special needs children and adults. In 1999, I built Destination Fitness to help those who could not reach a fitness facility enjoy exercising in the comfort of their own home.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with customers of all walks of life and all age groups. Our youngest client is 12 years old and our oldest client is 98 years young! We work with clients pre and post rehab, due to an injury, surgery, stroke or TBI. Marianjoy Rehab Institute and Shirley Ryan Ability Lab regularly refers their clients to us to continue post physical therapy exercise in their home. We work with seniors to help them stay strong and well balanced. We also work with clients who want to get fit for an upcoming event or wedding, learn a new sport, run a marathon, help with post pregnancy weight or learn yoga. We help our clients with special needs whether it be fibromyalgia, MS or autism, by creating a routine that will help them to feel safe and secure. Our Registered Dietitian and Nutritional Consultants are also on hand to help custom create a menu plan to help lose weight or to help with healing foods due to an illness. We have even worked with a client who was 500 pounds, hearing and vision impaired who thought it was impossible to work out. Yet our trainer Marty Malone found a way!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Rick and Annabelle contacted us to help them stay fit, strong and balanced. For the past year they worked out with our Exercise Therapist Suzanne Janusz. While working with Suzanne, Rick's doctor gave him an A+++ for the healthy change in his blood work! This Autumn Rick and his wife took a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee where they climbed mountains! Something they thought they could never achieve! We are so proud of Rick and his wife and to see their goal turned into a reality! Here is Rick's note to us! "We got back from our trip to Gatlinburg TN on Saturday. We had an awesome time! The highlight of our trip was when we hiked 1.75 miles up a mountain. The terrain was very difficult. The altitude where we started was 3,200' and we climbed to 4,600'. We were the oldest people on the hike. Many people only made it halfway up the trail. I would like to thank Destination Fitness for helping us accomplish our health goals. In particular, I would like to thank Suzanne for all she has done to bring us from where we were a little over a year ago to where we are now. We would not have been able to complete that hike up the mountain without her training expertise. And yes, we did feel the workout from that hike the next few days:) Thank you Jill! What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would suggest to be very thorough in checking credentials. Today anyone can take a test on line and receive a degree/certification. But did that professional actually take a class? Go to a school to learn anatomy and physiology? Are they truly certified? Can they show you their certification? Do they carry liability insurance? Do they hold CPR and First Aid certifications? Do they make you pay up front for services and then don't show up? All our trainers have professional background checks done by a professional private investigator. You can feel safe and secure with Destination Fitness. Plus we only charge for sessions used.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What goals would you like to see met? What is the best time of day to train? How can we best help you reach your goals. Honesty is the best policy. Please think about your health and future health and envision your goals. Let us know what they are no matter how small and we can help you reach them!
