Introduction

My work is evidence-based personal training meaning that I will use my expertise and start with a game plan. Every month we will update your personal metrics (weight, body fat %, etc) and figure out a way to address issues that have not adapted properly to the training. Not every strategy will work for every client and I want to find the best for each person and intervene quickly with a plan-B What I enjoy most about my job is being personally engaged and having a meaningful relationship with every client I work with. Sometimes I have an opportunity to work with a client multiple times a week and sometimes just once. Both of these types of clients I learn from and educate them on how to live better, that is my favorite part of my job.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is awesome and super flexible. All the sessions are with me and by appointment so you only pay each time you are working out with me. No packages and the facility fee is rolled into the final hourly price. You get the lowest price without some gimmick of buying more to get the "lowest price. "

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When I first meet with a potential client we meet at either my private personal training facility in River North or their building fitness facility. From there we start with baseline information and I focus on getting to know their prior experiences and goals, the whole process lasts a little under and hour and then we schedule the first workout. The workouts are all planned from minute one to sixty and are of course always with me. I am a data-informed personal trainer and use technology to deploy the training so I have the exact numbers ready to go the minute you walk in the door.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
The education component of my business one of the most substantial areas of concentration. Having an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology set me apart from 99% of personal trainers. This commitment to client goals and understanding of exercise is often commented on especially by people who have had personal trainers in the past. Such a compliment!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began fitness for myself at 16 as a way to learn lifelong fitness. Weight training and cardiovascular workouts are what each individual needs for successful weight management, stress reduction, and management of chronic illness (or avoidance of). I will help you.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
With a career in personal training spanning almost two decades I have had the benefit of working closely with a variety of populations. Including older adults, special populations, recreational and new exercises alike. You benefit from me having experience with these groups so that we have a faster ascent to your fitness goals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A client that came to me 8 years ago and continues to train with me. He was never the athlete, recreational lifter, weekend warrior and overall sedentary. We began to workout and he uncovered a deep resolve to be better (at 45). He lost over 43 pounds of fat, shifting his body fat percentage from 32% down to a VERY respectable 13% and began years of participating in 5ks, 10ks, half and full marathons! I am very proud of him and was touched that our working relationship helped him realize his potential.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always ask for the background of any personal trainer you are interested in working with. There are a lot of great people with zero knowledge and why risk your body over that? The difference in price can underscore substantial total value of the sessions.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
People considering personal trainers may consider the price, education, experience, and facility before pulling the lever. Often times in fitness there are gimmicks, fads, up selling, and group training/semi-private tricks and bait and switch that leave people with a bad taste in their mouth.
