Introduction

3 things make a good trainer: 1. Thorough knowledge of the science. 2. A long history of walking their talk. (Don't hire a guide who's never been where you want to go. Just reading books about the place doesn't cut it.) 3. Experience with a wide variety of clients. A natural athlete will make any coach look good, but truly talented trainers will have your grandma out-lifting you by next month. Since 2015 we've helped literally hundreds of clients towards their goals of better health, strength and performance. Our weapons of choice are decades of training experience and relentless commitment to improving our coaching skills via cold, hard science. We know. EVERYONE says that, but for proof, check out our website for dozens of articles and videos we've produced over the years demonstrating our commitment to scientifically valid information, as well as our many success stories. For a free consultation, please contact us via the contact form on our website or this messaging platform. We look forward to training with you! Miles Brown - Owner at Forge Fitness Studio

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Session pricing depends on the number of sessions purchased, but average pricing is $48 for 1 hour and $29 for 30 minutes. We also offer 25% per person if you train with a partner.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First we meet with the customer to determine what their goals are, then do several simple tests to determine their current fitness level. Once we've determined the clients goals and capabilities, we build a program that takes into account the clients priorities, preferences and needs. Measurable results are usually seen within 3 weeks of regular training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm certified by the American Council on Exercise as Personal Trainer and Nutritional Specialist. I've been a competitive athlete since I was 13 and am still competitive in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling. I've been doing Olympic Lifting since 2009 and hope to do my first competition soon. All of our trainers have their degrees in Exercise Science and have been competitive athletes themselves.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I personally started working with friends in my driveway and eventually went on to get multiple certifications. Then I opened Forge Fitness and have since added 3 more trainers to the team. We hope to open a west side location next year as well.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We've worked with clients looking to loose anywhere from 10 to 200 pounds, collegiate athletes, professional boxers, physique athletes and more. We have different trainers with different experience and specialties so we can connect you with someone who has experience with your goals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my clients came to me almost year ago weighing about 355 lbs and just recently hit the 295 mark! It was a ton of work, there were a few zig zags in progress and changing the dietary habits was a challenge, but we kept hacking away at it and finally got it figured out. It wasn't the easiest project I've undertaken but the challenge made it all the more rewarding. I'm stoked to see where we'll be in another 6 months!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone who seems credible and then call them! There's no point in putting another day between you and your goals.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How important is this goal in the big picture?
