How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My journey into fitness coaching started with my own passion for movement and strength. Early on, I realized how transformative fitness could be—not just for physical health but for building confidence and resilience. As I dove deeper into training, I found myself naturally helping friends and family with their fitness goals. Seeing their progress and how it changed their lives sparked something in me. I knew I wanted to turn that passion into a career, so I earned my Master Certification through ISSA and dedicated myself to learning everything I could about functional fitness and sustainable training methods. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life, helping them build strength, confidence, and lasting results. What started as a love for fitness has grown into a mission to empower individuals to believe in themselves and achieve what they never thought possible.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, each with unique goals and backgrounds. My experience includes: 1. Women Seeking Functional Fitness: I specialize in helping women build strength, confidence, and long-term wellness through functional training that improves daily movement and athletic performance. 2. Prenatal and Postpartum Clients: I’ve guided women through safe and effective training during pregnancy and supported them in rebuilding strength postpartum, focusing on core recovery and glute activation. 3. Athletes and Recreational Competitors: From tennis players to recreational fencers, I design sport-specific programs that improve power, endurance, and injury prevention. 4. Clients with Injuries or Movement Limitations: I have extensive experience in corrective exercise, working with individuals who have hip impingements, SI joint dysfunction, bunions, and other movement challenges to improve stability, mobility, and pain management. 5. Endurance Enthusiasts: I train clients preparing for races, including those with no prior running experience, helping them build cardiovascular capacity while preserving lean muscle. 6. Individuals with Autoimmune Conditions: I’ve supported clients with conditions like Hashimoto’s, creating low-inflammatory, sustainable nutrition and training programs tailored to their needs. 7. General Fitness and Weight Management: Whether it’s lean bulking, body recomposition, or simply getting stronger and more confident, I help clients achieve their goals with personalized, sustainable strategies. My approach is rooted in functional fitness and personalized coaching, meeting clients where they are and guiding them toward lasting results.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When hiring a personal trainer, it’s important to look beyond flashy workouts and quick-fix promises. Here are a few key things I recommend considering: 1. Experience and Education: Look for a trainer who is certified through a reputable organization and has hands-on experience working with clients who share your goals or challenges. 2. Specialization and Approach: Make sure their training philosophy aligns with what you’re looking for. If functional fitness, injury prevention, or sustainable strength-building is your focus, find someone who specializes in those areas. 3. Personalized Programming: A good trainer will tailor workouts specifically to your needs, abilities, and goals, not just hand you a one-size-fits-all plan. 4. Communication and Connection: You’ll spend a lot of time working with your trainer, so find someone who listens to you, motivates you, and genuinely cares about your progress. 5. Track Record: Don’t be afraid to ask for testimonials or examples of client success stories. Seeing how they’ve helped others can give you confidence in their ability to help you too. Lastly, trust your gut. The right trainer will make you feel empowered, supported, and confident in your journey to better health and fitness.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before coming to a consultation, it’s helpful to think through these questions to ensure you and your trainer can create the best plan for your fitness journey: 1. What are your primary goals? Are you looking to build strength, lose weight, improve athletic performance, manage pain, or simply feel better overall? Having a clear vision helps your trainer design a program tailored to you. 2. What’s your current fitness level and experience? Be honest about your starting point. Share any previous experience with fitness, sports, or training—whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. 3. Do you have any injuries, limitations, or medical conditions? Discussing injuries, chronic pain, or conditions (like joint issues or surgeries) will help your trainer create a safe and effective program. 4. How often can you realistically commit to working out? Think about your schedule and availability. How many sessions per week will fit your lifestyle? 5. What motivates you? Do you thrive with encouragement, challenges, or structured goals? Knowing what keeps you motivated will help your trainer better support you. 6. What has worked or not worked for you in the past? Reflect on any previous fitness attempts—what you enjoyed and what didn’t work—to help avoid past pitfalls. 7. What does success look like to you? Success isn’t just a number on the scale. Define what will make you feel accomplished, whether it’s more energy, better mobility, or hitting a performance goal. Being prepared with these answers ensures a productive consultation and helps your trainer build a customized plan that aligns with your needs and lifestyle.
