Introduction

I am a personal trainer and author. I help busy professionals become the best versions of themselves by turning them into Fitness Fishermen. You've heard the saying, "If you give someone a fish you feed them for a day, but if you teach them to fish you feed them for the rest of their life." Fitness fishermen are those people who can keep fitness a priority in their life through all life's ups and downs. I help my clients get off of the inconsistency roller coaster that so many of us get stuck on. The “I’m too busy” excuse that many of us struggle with is usually more about us trying to do something that doesn’t fit right in our lives. What we do for fitness has to fit in our lives. If it doesn’t fit it won't be there very long. I help my clients adapt to lifes changes with a cleanse and reset approach. Step 1: Redefine what fitness means to you right now, what you want to get out of it, why you want it, and how your life will change with it. Step 2: I help you figure out how it fits in your life, and how much accountability you need to be successful. It is life's unexpected changes that cause us to fall off track with our fitness plan. When life changes happen we are very good at adapting to them when it comes to our family, our career, and our faith, however we are terrible at adapting when it comes to our health. Fitness becomes the thing we plan to get to later. The problem with that, is that you will not be able to show up as the best version of yourself to any of those top priorities, if your health is not a priority now. My strength is helping people get off the inconsistency rollercoaster we all find ourselves on from time to time.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have an introductory special for all new clients, which is: 2-55 minute sessions for $50. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit together. If after the 2 sessions, you decide you would like to keep training with me, I will put that $50 you already gave me towards your first training package.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was a High School Physical Education Teacher and Strength & Conditioning coach for three years, and then started personal training in 2006. I have many certifications in personal training, and corrective exercise. I am the author of the book series, “Make Fitness A Priority”, and as a fitness speaker I have been a guest on over 70 podcasts. I believe that once you become a coach you become a better athlete, once you become a teacher you become a better student, and once you become a fitness professional you get better at making fitness a priority in your life. There is no short cut to experience, but if there was one it would be mentorship...which is what I try to provide for my clients.

What types of customers have you worked with?

The two biggest excuses that we all tend to make is that we are too busy and we are too tired. I help my clients overcome these excuses so that they can keep fitness a top priority. Let's face it everyone is busy, and there are probably many people in the world who are busier than you. It isn't that we don't have time, it is that we are not using our time efficiently! Using tools like my accountability log, I help my clients learn how to be more efficient with their time. Working out and eating right will do wonders for your energy also. I do my best to help clients increase their energy levels by improving their diet and sleep schedule.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I've learned through experience that the true purpose of my job is to help people get long term results not just a temporary quick fix. Many clients hire me because they have a short term goal motivating them, like a wedding or a vacation that they want to lose weight for. Sometimes they have an athletic event they are trying to get in shape for. While short term goals are important to make, if you don't make long term ones also eventually your results will be gone. I challenge my clients to dig deeper to find out WHY it is important to them to get in shape. Knowing your reason WHY is the key to long term success. There will be days when you don't want to work out, and days when you don't want to eat healthy. If you don't know why you are making the sacrifices that you are making, then you will eventually get off track.
