What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Before a new client signs up for training, I will sit down with them for a free consultation. We will discuss everything from their goals, health concerns, what I can offer, our schedules, and pricing. If we decide we are a good fit, paper work will be filled out and training will be purchased. If we decide it is not going to work out, there is no further obligation for either party.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have 20 years experience in the fitness industry. It includes Floor aerobics, Water Fitness, Step Aerobics, Indoor Cycle, Circuit Training and Personal Training. My current certifications are held with AFAA/NASM in Personal Training, Group Exercise and Nutrition. I am also certified as a Diet Free Life coach. Proof of Certifications and Insurance can be provided to potential clients at the free consult upon request.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got my start in fitness at the YMCA 20 years ago teaching group fitness classes. Initially, I was looking for the free gym membership and my own accountability. I knew that I could not back out of a workout if others were counting on me to instruct it. I ended up enjoying the work and in 2012, I decided to expand my career in fitness by becoming a personal trainer and opened my own training business. I love the individualized attention I can give my clients!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
A wide range of ages from teens to elderly A wide range of abilities: from very strong and fit to limited strength and movement Those recovering from surgery or illness that need to get moving again Weight loss clients

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Flexibility Training- A 60 year old client is doing the splits again! We did lots of different stretches for lower body muscle groups. It took time and patience, but she succeeded! Diet Free Life success stories - My first client to complete the 8 week course lost 16 pounds and 14 inches. Another lost 12 pounds in her first four weeks! This method is amazing! In 2019, I have been focused on teaching people about the Body Fat Index (instead of Body Mass Index, or BMI). A current client has recently lost 26 pounds in 3 months. Why is that so special? 25.6 of those pounds were FAT. UPDATE- Now 2021, she has lost over 70 pounds! Now keep in mind, she has also been killing it in her workouts with me each week. Hard work and dedication pays! Bottom line, I will teach you how to lose fat and keep muscle!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Before you spend any money, ask yourself how committed you are to taking on your goals. Make sure your commitment level is high. Get in the "I'm ready to do this" mindset if you are not already there.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are my goals? Are they realistic? How can you help me achieve my goals? Will our schedules work together? What will my responsibilities be outside our sessions?
