Welcome to Meraki Fitness located in Allen Park Mi, founded in 2021. We are a private gym who lets trainers and members have their personal space to enjoy their sessions. We offer a whole lot such as Semi private training, all female group training, personal 1 on 1 training, and more. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am certified through ISSA and NASM with nutrition, personal training and bodybuilding.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was anorexic when I was younger and then came obesity. Highschool came and I became a big sport and gym addict where I played every sport possible which resulted in a lot of injuries. I did not know a thing about working out, building muscle, getting stronger, leaner, etc. I was a senior in highschool where I then decided to become a personal trainer where I then pursued my certifications and started training clients. Most importantly I started training myself the correct way.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Trainers can get their certification in a month. Make sure your trainer knows what they are doing. Question them about their own training experience, have they hired anyone in the past. It's a lot more than what's in the books, trainers should have gotten trained by people as well to further their intelligence on personal training.
