Introduction

Thanks for your interest! In addition to hour sessions, I offer 30 and 45 minute sessions as well as group/buddy training, all of which are priced at a reduced rate. That flexibility is one of the things that allows me to work with just about anybody, because at Thrive Personal Training, it's all about you - your goals, your program, and your results! Many trainers use templates and cookie-cutter programs - just copy, paste, and apply to the next client. Instead, I'll customize your program to meet your specific needs and abilities. Your goal may be to lose weight, build muscle, enhance your sports performance, or to simply move better and without pain. You might have several of these goals. Whatever your unique situation, together we will design a plan that will work for you. This not only includes our training time together, but also nutritional and exercise guidance for what to do outside of our workouts. Typically we start with a complimentary initial visit, where we set goals, review your exercise history, perform assessments, and determine the best program for you. Just send me a message to set that up, or to ask any questions you may have. Thanks and talk to you soon!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
First off, there is no facility/membership fee. You only pay for training services. Normal rates are as follows: Individual Training 30 min - 50 45 min - 75 60 min - 99 Hour sessions are the best fit for most new clients (for educational purposes, etc.) but it varies based on the individual. Buddy Training is time-and-a-half. For instance, the rate for two people is $148.50 for an hour session (each person saves 25% off the individual rate). Group Training Varies based on the number of individuals in the group My goal is to never let price limit you from working with me. Some clients train 3 times per week, and others only train a couple of times a month. Obviously, the more often that we meet, the better. However, regardless of our training frequency, I will make sure that you know what to do between our sessions to make solid progress towards your goals!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first thing we do is schedule a complimentary initial visit. This gives you a chance to check out the training facility and for us to get to get to know each other. During this time, we also perform an assessment, which consists of: - Goal setting - Review of Exercise History (including any injuries or limitations) - Fitness Tests (typically body composition and a movement screen) - Discussion of Training Options We then determine what the best overall program will be for you - not just how often we're going to train together (typically 1, 2, or 3 times per week), but also what you'll need to do outside of our sessions to be successful.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Health, fitness, and exercise have always been a major part of my life. Although it wasn't my main area of focus in college, I did get a Coaching Certification as part of my degree. I also interned as an Assistant Coach with the local high school track team and loved it. When I graduated I actually worked in radio for a couple years. It was fun, but there was too much sitting around. I needed to move! Since I had enjoyed my previous coaching experience so much, I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer and switched careers. I worked for Life Time Fitness for 9 years as a Trainer, Boot Camp Instructor and Team Lead, and as a Training Manager. I struck out on my own in 2011, and I've now been running my business for 9 years. I love what I do!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve trained a wide variety of individuals, including: - Regular folks who want to lose weight and build some muscle - Athletes looking to perform better in their sport - Seniors with mobility/pain issues who simply want to move better and hurt less - Power Lifters - Body Builders - Endurance Athletes (runners, triathletes, etc.) - Brides prepping for a wedding - Small Groups/Boot Camps

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My client Jane lost 40 pounds. It took about a year and a lot of hard work, but she's kept it off and feels great compared to when we started. My client Louise and I have been training together since 2016. She's dropped several points in her body fat percentage. More importantly, she's now able to participate again in her favorite activities (such as hiking) which she had previously given up. After our first 6 months of training, she developed in interest in power lifting. She recently dead lifted 360 pounds (a personal best) and has competed in some local power lifting events.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who delivers good value, not necessarily the lowest price. You can determine that based on their reviews as well as their depth and breadth of experience.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
- What are my goals? - Why do I want to do this? - How committed am I? - What do I want to achieve with a personal trainer that I can't do on my own?
