What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Scott Perry is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Scott has a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the New York State University at Cortland (2003) Scott has over 16 years of personal training experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Scott has always had a passion for health and fitness. Scott enjoys working with people and watching them achieve their goals.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Scott specializes working with the senior citizen population, but also has a great deal of experience working with high level athletes as well as the general population. Scott also is well qualified to work with individuals that experience autoimmune conditions and those with special needs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Scott recently helped a client that lost 62 pounds, increased bone mineral density, and cardiovascular health. He also helped an 87 year old man to start golfing again. If changes are going to be made, habits must be formed.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for credentials, experience, and proof of client results. Personal Training is a completely unregulated industry. It is important to understand who you are trusting your body of health with.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Ask about trainer qualifications and their experience working with individuals similar to your age range, demographic, and desired fitness goals. If you have physical limitations or restrictions it is extremely important to understand if your trainer is well qualified enough to work with you. Your fitness goals matter, but your safety is equally as important.
